  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Yes. Absoloutely. For the most part I have never really put much value in pictures of myself, and especially if the image includes others. The purpose of a photograph is to preserve a memory, of either people, an event or a place. People pass through your life all of the time though - they rarely stay. Friends are really just long-term acquaintances. Those kids that you know in school will be replaced with people who you know in college, and those in college will eventually be replaced by someone else. It goes on. This is why I dislike taking photos - what is the point of trying to remember somebody who will one day leave?

I have a small number of those kind of photographs stored somewhere. Ones which have me posing (reluctantly) with other people. Who are they? Maybe some distant "friend" that I used to have? A project team member? I do not remember and it does not matter. All that I am left with are ghosts from the past; the vague shadow of a time which no longer exists. This makes me feel uncomfortable.

yes!
In my previous apartment I only kept a small mirror to shave my face. I wanted to avoid seeing my face too often.
And I also hate seeing my reflection in windows or metal panels when I'm outside. Or walking under a lamp in a shop, it makes all sort of weird shadows on my face.
I hate when someone takes a photo of me, even involuntarily when they are taking a photo of the landscape. I always think that later, when they will check their photos, they will say "you got this ugly guy in your photo, it was such a nice landscape".
Worst nightmare: when I have to take biometric photos for badges or ID cards. That's an ugly picture that will stay with me for a looooong time.
Lol, yes, I have all this sort of demons in my mind.

Not read all the replies, but interesting to read those who once thought themselves beautiful, yet find themselves the oppisite,
I have always thought myself ugly and repulsive, always hated my reflection, never felt pretty as a women, its got worse as I have got older, now I can't even put into words the hatred I feel when I find myself in a photo, i do selfies if drunk, but boobs out only, rarely will you see my face,

Title. I have to take a selfie for a uni assignment, never realized how much it bothered me before then. Being able to stare and see exactly what's wrong with you is jarring.

I've always hated both, since I was a kid.
