Do you ever think of ways you could ctb so that it looks like a natural death?

Ctb works in less than 5% of attempts in the U.S., largely due to low percentage methods like pills, cutting, and partial hanging. It's already so tough to ctb I personally wouldn't want to make it even more difficult.

Same here - it's really important to me that my son and mother don't know it's a suicide.

I live near the ocean, and am planning to have it look like a straight up accidental drowning. Can go out there, float on my surfboard, and take N or SN. Bit more complicated, but could also do it with nitrogen or argon, I think … just get face down in the water, and use a mask that you have to hold to your face. Pass out … mask/tank/etc all fall to ocean floor … you unconsciously take a breathe of water … the end.

I'd go when there are no lifeguards, obviously…but will let friends know that I'm planning to surf, so they'll know where to look for my body. Maybe even make plans with someone for later that day, so they start searching soon … no one wants to find a badly decomposed body.

Lastly, looks like accidental SN deaths have happened due to too much SN being present in homemade sausage. Soooooooo, any interest in taking up sausage making??

DON'T DO THIS. You will fail and suffer major injuries to your mouth and digestive tract.

It goes without saying that any method you choose to make it look like an accident will have major risks and generally be more painful than apparently intentional suicides even if it succeeds in the end.

There's not a high likelihood of failure with that method though, with a severe enough esophageal burn, you have a 65% chance to die from laryngeal edema, supraglottic edema, or cardiac arrest even with reactive medical attention. Very painful way to go, but again, that goes without saying.

I'm going for either drowning or heart attack as my natural method. Pushing 50 now, was hugely obese but pretty much lost half my body weight in the past 18 months, people think it's amazing, but really it's just me pushing myself far too much on hikes and now runs to try and have a cardiac arrest (managing 200bpm regulary on exercises now) I've taken up wild swimming too so will be swimming until I'm utterly exhausted soon and hopefully not make it back to shore.

Also, @Ta555 just posted an interesting article from the Journal of Forensic Toxicology, and park of it read, "Many of the methods in these guides, such as asphyxiation with helium, are not routinely tested for, and if the apparatus is removed prior to the arrival of medical examiners, could easily be ascribed to natural causes." Just need a partner!

I'm not a massively religious person but I'm undecided about God. I have this hope that if there is one- he/she/it might be merciful (although- the massive amount of suffering in the world makes me doubt this).

Anyway, I have frequently tried to make a deal with God- that it would be a whole lot better if they just struck me down with something- lightning- anything (preferably quick and painless) because surely that would be a better end for those left behind than if I did it myself... but nothing's happened. I can only conclude that either there isn't a God, they're too busy to listen, they have some weird plan that I need to do or learn something before I die, they don't give a shit, or they actually want me to suffer.

I've even had these ridiculous fantasies while watching documentaries about things like the Chernobyl disaster that maybe I could somehow go out like a hero- saving other people's lives... But I'm too unfit for the army (and have no desire to kill other people) and the likelihood is I would be too cowardly to go ahead with something terribly dangerous and potentially painful.

I live in a pretty big city and recently, when I have to cross the street on my way to work, I've been doing increasingly more reckless things like crossing when I'm not supposed to or in the middle of the street, this is super out of character for me because I have a lot of car trauma and get scared doing that type of stuff usually. But I've reached this level of wanting something to kill me where I just get these thoughts like "whats the worst that can happen? you'll get what you want wont you?" and instead of feeling scared its comforting. I also think about how easy it would be to pretend to trip on something on the sidewalk and fall sideways into the street. Getting hit by a car and surviving sounds horrible though not to mention the hospital bills would make everything so much worse, so I wouldn't risk it, these are just thoughts I have.

You can do the shallow water blackout method, it requires you swimming in a large body of water though.

I watch a lot of crime shows and often see someone giving someone else a drug that results in death but looks like it was just a heart attack. Most of the time, said drug is simply slipped into the victim's drink -- so it can't be something that has a real taste to it. I've often wondered if such a drug truly exists and if so could I possibly find it.

I don't think you should try to get hit by a car, they have good brakes you know, even trucks. Also i think you will create problems for a driver and traumatise somebody, what if it ends in bigger car crash with few cars?
