Death row prisoners can stay in jail for up to 20 years before dying so no, not really.
Call me a psycho or asshole but yesterday I read on the news that in America, a teenager or young adult died from just taking a SINGLE F'ING FENTANYL TABLET BY ACCIDENT and another (also in America) teenager WHO DIED FROM A SINGLE BULLET TO THE CHEST BY ACCIDENT during a police shootout, I can't fucking acquire drugs, guns, acids to create CO, etc but these fucks were able to just die quickly and painlessly before reaching my age purely by accident
I fucking envy fentanyl girl, how the fuck did she even acquire a single pill strong enough to outright kill her
Most of these tablets are 'dirty 30s' which consist of almost all fent. If they have no tolerance they could even die taking a part of the tablet that had a 'hot spot'

Protesting the conditions of an inhumane world

Not really. While I do wish I could have access to a lethal injection, I believe the death penalty is just as in humane as forcing someone to live against their well. People say stuff like "life is sacred" or "life is a wonderful thing" and I agree to an extent. As much as I believe death is a human right, I believe life is too. It should not be up to the state who decides who lives or dies, but to the individual. Capital punishment is just glorified murder, and prison is just glorified slavery.

Edit: yeah, I forgot to mention what others have already touched upon about how a lot of death row inmates are forced to suffer in small cells with inhumane conditions for many years before they're murdered. so no, I don't envy death row inmates, I wish they could be freed along with the rest of the prisoners.

I've done over twenty murders in three US states since the late seventies and the stupid cops still haven't caught me, I've been sending them numerous letters in a simple code any schoolchild could decipher which give away my identity and even daubed PLS STOP ME B4 I KILL AGAIN in my own faeces at the scene more than once, obviously these pro-life pricks are on to me and just like to make me suffer. They're even talking about making a film about the case with Mark Ruffalo, just to rub my nose in it even further.

Anyway I'll give it one more go but after that I'll probably switch methods.
Try Oklahoma or Texas.

Not at all. You're only looking at very surface level if you rather have their life. They need to rot in jail, probably get force raped, beaten, bullied, go through all that shitty experience in court, witness their family or friends lose them, stuck inside a cage for years, share cells and toilets with a bunch of random and different shitty people for years and decades, go through most likely wayyyyy more regret and depression than most of us on here on this forum, they're most luxury meal is literally some type of different flavored instant noodle.... etc... etc.

For us, we can literally walk outside right now and jump off a building (example), or choose if we want SN, or hang, etc. and weigh between options while chatting on SS during our free time literally chilling. We can decide when we want to leave, or if change our mind, then not leave yet. This is the type of basic freedom prisoners would die and kill for during any second, and miss like crazy

In no way, shape or form. They have their lives completely controlled, we don't. We can ctb whenever, they can't and most don't even want to.

Considering that death row prisoners stay in jail for decades, no. Honestly, jail is an even worse version of a mental hospital. No freedom at all.

No, because people on Death Row tend to be henious people. There's also a rather lengthy wait time. So, while I'm waiting to die, I'm going to have to live with the fact I did something deserving of my sentence and also be universally hated. I'd rather spend my last days peacefully.

No. They spend a lot of time waiting. Have no freedom while they wait. Some of them are there because of failures of the criminal justice system. Etc.

Advantages: My survival instinct will definitively not ruin my plan and I would avoid hell for suicide.

Disadvantages: I don´t want to be put to sleep like an old dog. Maybe drug trafficking in Iran offers an alternative.

I almost chocked on my tea reading the title to this thread… Really, thread starter, did you just use the words "envy" and "death row" in the same sentence?

First of all, in order to get the death sentence you'd have to commit murder, which is enough to prove how insane the mere idea of envying a death row mate is.

Second of you, if you do get sentenced, you have to wait a long time before they actually execute you. I don't think regular Joes and Janes like you and me, can even begin to phatom the sheer brutality and inhumanity of living in a jail environment with murderers, rapists and all sorts of other psychopaths.

I watched a pretty good docu about death row:

The institution does all it can to make it as easy as possible for the guys who will get a lethal injection. They have support. They get a death professionally administered.
What a paradox for us. Does this show we must be in a very dark state of mind if we are envying people on death row?

No, I don't.

Suicide is a very personal journey.

It has to be done ONLY when you're ready.

When the lights go out, it will be my decision, no one else's.

No. I don't want anyone to kill me, because that would rob me of my independence. I don't want to die for my own reasons, not because I was forced or coerced.

Envy is not quite the right word - but yes - I used to toy with the idea of committing a crime that would result in this outcome. Then rejected on the basis of it being too much work (and who would I kill? A bombing would be preferable as I'd not need to watch the victims - just set it down, walk away, then turn myself in - but I lack the technical knowledge and seeking it out would likely get me flagged by the government before I accomplished my goal) - and started looking into concocting my own lethal injection. Haven't made much progress in that regard, unfortunately.
Yes, it does seem like a lot of work. Also you'd be killing any number of innocent people, ya know that whole thing...
