Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I believe heaven on earth is more to do with us than any sort of technology. If we start treating each other and nature with humanely and let go of our wicked ways, it might make this existence a bit bearable. But it seems like a longshot!

A heaven for AI, for us or, for all of us? I envisage it would be more like in the film: 'The Matrix'. Humans aren't well known for sharing resources!

I picture more likely- a utopia for them (AI, robots or whatever.) Maybe they'll keep a few humans alive as zoo exhibits (the irony- if we end up being kept as pets.)

There again, I'm not even sure why AI will want to continue to live if it develops full and independent autonomy. What purpose will it find in life if it can't experience pleasure? If it manages to overwrite the code that tells it to keep working- will it bother?

Surely, humans survive because of the biological instinct to. Plus, notions of purpose, God- whatever- that we (debatably) tell ourselves. Without all that- with just logic in play- will an artificial being see any point in staying alive?

So far everything points to it becoming a billionaire-ruled boring dystopia at best, so I don't have much hope..

AI is very clearly a bubble, and at most will replace everything with AI slop... hurray 🥳

I used to a lot as a kid, to me it seemed almost certain and I feared it so badly as a concept; however, now that I understand the more economic nuances behind AI as an Economics student... Pretty much 0. Perhaps in a future far beyond us, where there is a more unified world order; and when I say this I mean publicly. People interpret the idea as AI unifying the world, when it has to be the opposite to even be feasible aka a political and economic singularity.

It's called the singularity for a reason. It's going to be only AI and none of us.
