I mostly admire celebrities who speak out against things they obviously feel affected by. Even if they are well regarded, with cancel culture so rife and the people they criticize so powerful, I think they're brave to do it:

Obviously, if it's more like virtue signalling then, it's more annoying.

What do you think? Should there be a moral responsibility for those that have a platform to advocate for what they believe even? But then, we all have different ideas. They may be advocating for something we strongly disagree with. So, do you prefer it when they keep their views hidden or separate?

I'd rather know whether the person who I'm enjoying the art of supports fascism than just stay ignorant. Some do it to virtue-signal, though, that's annoying.

In most cases I believe any expression of political views is a PR move in either direction. If they were so passionate about <whatever cause> they have ample means to make a huge difference towards that cause in multiple ways given their power as well as financially - and I mean a substantial amount, not just a "tax break" amount (which to them is still millions) - and the vast majority of them do not (except, again, for tax breaks). But thankfully for me I don't like nor care about celebrities, they are just little jesters that do silly dance for us.

Neither.

It does not need courage to share one's political orientation in Western Democracies (in almost all cases). Maybe I am wrong Nick Fuentes just had the take that Jeffrey Epstein is extremely cool and based.

I don't admire them. Maybe it strengthens their brand, maybe they lose some fans. That's minor.

I think that can keep it to themselves if they want. I would not demand that...

People are theoretically supposed to be free to share their views as they wish OR to stay out of it if they want to do so. I can respect either decision and do not think anyone, celebrity or otherwise, should be pressured to be silent OR to speak out... on anything. I don't admire them, though, not just for doing that. I only admire people with whom I can really identify their position and other components. Admiration needs more than just talking.

There are lots of virtue signalers... not just celebrities. Regular people and politicians virtue signal all the time. They see which way the wind is blowing and join a team. Heck, do yourself a favor and look back over the last 30-40 years of political views and see for yourself how Republicans and Democrats have completely swapped sides on some key issues over that time... Like immigration or financial responsibility in government... you can find examples of each side saying the same thing a decade or two apart as they do the virtue signalling dance and oppose each other once one has picked a side the other must pick the other.

"You're a celebrity shut up"is one of the least American things to say... nobody's opinion is supposed to mean more than another person's because of wealth or social status. Also... There are celebrities on both sides of the argument... and ironically (or not) each side only wants the other side's celebrities to shut up.

It's annoying when someone says how society should be then goes back to their multi million dollar home in a gated community. They can have an opinion but they have zero idea what reality is like.
