Hi everyone, I didn't really pay close attention to US politics, but recently I read that people ctb over Trump winning the election. Especially trans people for some reason. Is that true? Do people on this website really feel that way? If so, why??
Yeah, people are killing themselves over the election and the general opinion about it it's fine. I don't have anything to say that I didn't already tbh. Their reasons are fear that they will lose even more rights than they already have, and, in extreme cases, fear genocide of their groups.

I think people here are fearful over the societal implications mostly - how it will embolden right-wingers and stymie progress with regards to acceptance of trans people and other minorities, which is fair enough if those issues are a big part of your life. For many members here, that is most certainly the case.
For the broader population I reckon these are seen as fairly niche or irrelevant topics, since for them it's typically about things like, what will yield a stronger economy? What will lower gas prices? How is our strength on the world stage?
So really I suppose it comes down to priorities and what affects you personally. Ultimately it's a bit of a shame if people feel they need to ctb over something like this, but I sort of get it, especially because Trump himself seems extra vengeful with more of a "take no prisoners" mindset than before. At least, that's the impression I get. With advanced age and extra jadedness setting in, who knows what we're in for? Worrying times.
Lol probably not. It's just people overreacting. 99% of this site is people saying they're going to kill themselves for attention and never actually going through with it (which is a good thing, if anything it should be 100%)
I'm not American but the fact that he would actually consider putting RFK jr in charge of health terrifies me. Imagine what will happen to the entire health industry with that man in charge. Fucking nightmare.

I am surprised that Trump is seen as so much worse when in my opinion all other politicans before him were just as bad. Bush, Obama, Biden...none of those made the world better. Trump will just accelerate the global decline, but he isnt the start, humanity as a whole is rotten. At least 90 % of people are evil if given the chance to make free decisions.
I don't think most people want to CTB directly because of Trump winning the election, but it's the straw that broke the camel's back. Years of other reasons wearing down a person's will to live and suddenly someone with full legal power to affect their lives has the ability to in a way they believe is more unbearable than the stacked suffering before is more likely the answer.

Really? To me this website seems like a place where people can vent about their struggles, ask "taboo" questions and not be showered by "no don't do it, you have so much to live for" upon making the choice of suicide. All while not being judged by their fellow posters. Obviously, the fact that people are driven to suicide by their struggles is a sad, tragic thing, but that does not justify your flawed perception of this website and its core principles.
