Do people go online and start passive-aggressive arguments to compensate frustration?

Why do trolls troll? Why do people like offending other people online?

The thing is if all these people were miserable themselves why aren't there more trolls on SaSu? It is quite the opposite on here. Many people are very compassionate and real. Way better than on any other website I know. LIke the suffering unites us. In some way. There are many members with a lot of empathy. Maybe our own story makes us more aware how unfair life can be.

Why do I like the SaSu community so much more than most other online communities I was part of? I think very stigmatized topics can be discussed on here. And there is less judgement.

I was part of some other mental health communities and they were so shitty. And Reddit sounds like ass.

The thing is with the modern internet I think most good things will come to an end. And maybe SaSu is one of those good things. Surveillance state becomes more and more real. It already is but the OFFCOM regulation is insane.

It's all nature. Nature made us cruel. Back in the day public executions, SA, torture, were every day business as usual. Now our sense of morality is higher than ever, there are more societal boundaries, and all that cruelty generating inside of us has to go somewhere. The stronger your moral compass, the more you internalize that cruelty, directing it into yourself, and even then a part of it seeps through and affects your behavior. Internet allows for the release of that cruelty upon others with no repercussions.

We are cruel by design. Whether it's to ourselves or to others. Moral of the story: nature, once again, can eat shit.

Yes, it helps me feel something. Most of the time it's a radical version of my opinion that I know will start an argument because I like the adrenaline I get from going back and forth.

Sometimes it's just simple one sentence ragebait like "racist" or "she wants to be black so bad" and i have a free vibrator for the night

In an odd way, it helped me develop empathy for some of the harsher internet trolls, I believe that a lot of them are mentally unwell.

Social media algorithms promote content that generates aggravation and conflict. It's no accident. It generates activity, and hence as views and clocks. It's big business and the likes of Mark Zuckerberg make me sick

I don't see how that would work. I mean, if I'm frustrated about something, going online and being passive-aggressive wouldn't do anything to relieve my frustration.

I really don't like arguing, at all.

I'm fine with healthy debate. You and I can disagree and as long as we are both earnest in our debate then one or both of us can learn something. But arguing for arguing sake is just more frustration to me. Even if I "win" an argument, I still lose for all the frustration of having to have participated in the argument at all.

I'm way too scared to purposefully start an argument.. Only in circumstances where I feel like I absolutely have to speak up, like if something is completely counter to my morals.

I can totally see it though, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case (referring to the title)

Maybe sasu is different because making an account here and embracing the community admits a certain vulnerability in the user? we're all here for (mostly) similar reasons. Also great moderation because I know many people have strong opinions on the subject.

For me, I like feeling like the asshole instead of the little bitch for once. Even if a ton of people are coming at me I know deep down that I've gotten to them and their yelling and long replies just means I successfully triggered them.

Shoud it be done? no. I think it can stem from self hatred, jealousy and frustration. People can use the "free speech" for these things.
