  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Death comes to us all, but we have the right to decide when and how we are going to die. Life is a personal responsebility, we have to decide for ourselves.

Do not trust everything that is written about suicide - there are errors in all books. The author could not have tested the methods on himself because he was alive when he wrote about it - some people will do anything to be a famous writer and to earn money. The suicide methods that are recommended today will be removed in the future.

I have read about failed suicide attempts with nitrogen, helium, carbon monoxide, compression, rebreather, hanging and jumping. The method exit bag and gas is complicated and difficult to succeed with, the R2D Rebreather II does not seem to work at all, compression is difficult to perform on oneself without experience and knowledge and a successful hanging requires knowledge and preparations.

Read about death and suicide in books and in articles, think about what you have read for a long time and use your common sense and your intelligence to make a wise decision. Be careful with the use of drugs - too much alcohol and sleeping pills can lead to a failure.

Prepare for the suicide for a long time and practice the points that will lead to death and then you will also be able to defeat the survival instinct - it is only a matter of time. A method that is reliable is better than a peaceful method because our goal is to die, not to fail. How much can the body handle before you die? Which is the most sensible method? Do not trust anyone with your own life!

I agree, before I ctb I will plan carefully to reduce chances of failure. Failing an attempt is the thing that I fear. I wish it was easier to leave this world. Of course we all deserve the option of euthanasia, a peaceful dignified death.

From what I've read, attempts to overdose using pills/medication have a really high failure rate. There are not a whole lot of medications/drugs that work for ctb. Involuntarily throwing up a lethal dose is a big issue.

A method that is reliable is better than a peaceful method because our goal is to die, not to fail.

I have experience with physical pain, I'm less concerned about experiencing physical pain or distress than I am with my SI kicking in and stopping me. It seems to me like methods which cause physical pain are more likely to result in the SI kicking in.

Also, I'm not a violent person. I've never committed any acts of physical violence. I've thought about getting a gun, but it's not an intuitive method for me. I feel like I would have a harder time with following through on a physically violent act. For me, something that is calm will be easier to do than something that is physically aggressive, although I realize that this may not be true for everyone.

The other benefit of a peaceful end is that it's not so distressing for the person who discovers the body and it's less distressing for family members etc. I couldn't give two shits what my body looks like, but if I can ctb in a way that's less distressing for other people, I think that it's worth taking that into consideration.

The other big consideration is what the consequences might be if it fails. The possibility of brain damage, organ damage, physical disabilities, etc. are worth taking into consideration. An attempt that fails is less of an issue if it doesn't create a bunch of new problems. Having a serious disability and people knowing that you're suicidal might make it extremely difficult to make another attempt.

Personally, I'm starting with an exit bag because it seems to me like any problems that might emerge are going to show up fairly early in the process, before there's any real damage. Which means that I can just figure out what the problem is and correct it. It might mean that it would end up taking a while longer to get a working system set up, but if ctb is a good idea now, it's still going to be a good idea a week from now. It seems like as long as there's adequate gas in the tank and no chance of discovery, if it works well enough to pass out, it's pretty much going to work.

It is definitely important to be methodical in researching it.

We seem to function a bit like the scientific community here, where years of deliberation sees a consensus emerge (eg. N from D, following PPH procedure) and any new ideas are met with healthy skepticism.

Euthanasia will be my choice of method. If I can get it accepted, I will be so relieved. I could check out anytime I like. If they dont accept it, I'm gonna have to do SN. But that will be way later in life, I have to stay alive for my mom.
