I ordered SN from DMC on November 14 and now I'm in a difficult situation since Canada Post is on strike and I used a Canada Post Flex Delivery location (basically a PO box) as my shipping address.

Here's what has happened so far:
  • November 14: I made my order
  • November 15: Canada Post went on strike
  • November 16: I emailed DMC asking how the strike might affect my order and if I could change my shipping address
  • November 17:
    • DMC emailed back, saying he didn't know how the strike would affect my order and asking if I wanted to change my shipping address.
    • I said I'd like him to withhold from shipping my order until I've found another address. (I don't want to use my home address because I live with my parents, so I was planning to look into other PO boxes.)
    • The order shipped anyway that evening >_<
    • I haven't talked to DMC since then. (I guess I can ask him for clarification, but I'd feel kinda stupid asking "hey I know it said it shipped but like did it actually ship???")
I've been checking the tracking information periodically and right now it says, "The postal item has been processed at the office of exchange and handed over for further transportation to the destination country." I've been back and forth with Canada Post and Amazon customer service (I had made an Amazon order before the strike to test the PO box) and no one has any idea what's going on. I've heard that Canada Post is the only carrier that's allowed to ship to their own PO boxes, but I haven't been able to get a simple answer as to whether my package will be delayed, lost, sent back, etc. I just want to know what's happening to my SN ;-;

So, uh... Does anyone know what's going on? Any chance the package will go to some distribution centre in my province where I can pick it up manually? Should I just make another order from DMC and have it shipped to a home address? Can I redirect the package while it's shipping? Should I say something to DMC? Would it make sense to wait out the strike? Am I asking too many questions? Any help would be appreciated, even if it's just something like "oh wow that sucks."

Im worried about that as well! I literally *just* ordered mine today, i hope they get off strike soon but i dunno. You could try to ask the seller, i had a lot of trouble with ordering my sn and they've been nothing but helpful so maybe you could ask for clarification, i really dont think he's going to tell you you're stupid for asking about it, since it also is a pretty expensive order.

If DMC already shipped it I'm not sure there's much you can do except wait it out. Luckily they package SN very securely so I don't think it's problematic if your order waits in some warehouse for a few days/weeks until the strike ends.

According to the news today Canada Post has over 2.1 million packages just sitting at distribution centers and won't be released till after the strike. Hopefully they get their shit sorted soon cause ya it's crap for those of us expecting packages.

I emailed DMC a couple days ago to ask if I can still change my shipping address but I haven't gotten a response :( He might be busy dealing with payment issues or something, but I kinda think he's ignoring me because I've already paid and he's already shipped and now he has no incentive to provide good customer service. I guess I'll just wait it out.

I'm also interested in this. I'm in Canada and ready to order. I also have a P.O. Box at my local shoppers for my mail. Does DMC come through Canada post for sure? And do you know if it delivered to P.O. Boxes?

Also the strike is obviously going to cause delays which is an issue for me. I'm hoping it ends start of December for holiday season

Not sure if DMC always goes through Canada Post, but he did confirm that he's able to deliver to PO boxes. My issue is that I had my order shipped to a Canada Post PO box, and only Canada Post can deliver to those, so if you have your order delivered to a residential address or a different PO box then you may be able to avoid being affected by the strike.

Both times I bought from DMC they arrived via Canada post. I'm in the same boat with my meto order, "stuck in the postal strike". Because of the holidays and black Friday online shopping etc, I can't imagine how backed up parcels must be getting. It'll take quite a some time for them to catch up once the strike ends. I was so hoping to be gone before 2025 arrives! Oh well, "we have to play the hand we're dealt" is i think how the saying goes. Hopefully I'll get to CTB not long into the new year. 🤞
