Yes, a person could use a full face mask, but many don't like the idea of having so much of their face covered up. People react to it similar to how they react to an Exit Bag, for some reason it creates a visceral reaction, maybe its the idea of being smothered by the bag/full mask. I also think that because the mask is medical many feel it's just the right choice. They don't have as much issue dying with that on their face and being found with it on (if no one removes it before the body is discovered).

Got some one way valves today that work even better and with no modification to the originals I was using. Waiting on a counterlung to come. Valves cost $1.50 each plus shipping.

I hope you suceed in making your own debreather. And then as others have asked i hope that you post the plans, parts equipment, etc.
I'm thinking of incorporating your completed plans with my own underwater version with a full face scuba mask so then i go deep under water and pass out there .
Is your debreather or the debreather they are planning to sell water proof? Cause i could put it on and then go freediving and keep going down until i pass out and sink so then there would be even higher probability of dying dying imo.
I just want 99% or as high as i can get probability of dying.

Having watched the video this looks like it's the sort of thing that a reasonably handy person could knock together in a few hours. Things to note, 1 way valve are the order of the day as you don't want any pesky CO2 disturbing your, erm, nap we'll call it. I like it as it could be a nice convenient thing to have when the SI isn't screaming in my face. It happens sometimes but usually when I don't have the opportunity or means to ctb. I just learned I am getting some pretty powerful sleepy pills so I may keep a couple in reserve if I use one of these. I'm liking the concept a lot actually, and has more convenience factor than my first choices of NOS and plain Nitrogen. What would be lovely is if it could pass a little NOS to you to help relax. Might have think on that one. :-)
Yes it could be as it is assembled from plumbing fittings.
That would be as easy as changing the mask out for one with a line port. There are all kinds of masks available.

Sounds good, I'm thinking maybe it gives you regular doses via maybe a peripheral device, long enough until the O2 depletes enough then shuts off when you are likely to be unconscious so you aren't introducing more oxygen from the NOS.
Perhaps a whipped cream dispenser properly modified to deliver the NOS using a solenoid valve and a simple electronic timer could add this feature? :-)

A body willing to accept PM about construction of personal debreather? I really admire the technical skills and ingenuity of this process but a little techinicallly challenged myself and would appreciate all the help available from our seasoned veterans in the field.
