The Disturbing Side of Sanctioned Suicide...

When I watched some videos on the 764 community I got sucked into horror story Youtubers. The Dark Side of Reddit here as an example. There seem to be so many of them. They also show real pictures but with censorship of the worst parts. I think it is the one of the worst forms of voyeurism. I don't deny these videos can be entertaining for some. The Youtubers put a lot of effort in it. And it might impact their own mental health. But it is so sensationalistic. They do anything for the bucks. And it seems for me to be shallow and also a little bit disrespectful to the victims. The narration is the biggest strength in my opinion. The sound makes the video scary and the way the stories are told. Looking at the facts of what happened how scary are these stories really? I listened to 4 stories. And the ones of the 764 community were the most shocking to me. But it does not surprise me much that there are men who travel to Asia for their pedocriminal instincts. I mean I also don't feel scared when I look at pictures of Epstein. These things happen. It does not shock me. Or that on Reddit someone lived next to a murder family (they killed one child). Congratulations. The most ridiculous story is the second of the video I linked. Someone filmed the birth of his child uploaded the video on the internet without consent and it landed on a fetish subreddit. I mean I am also not shocked about that. I find watchpeopledie on reddit way more disturbing. But watching these videos must be so repetitive. And it gives you a wrong impression of the world. But maybe the most important thing we should not deal with such stories in such a way. This instrumentalizes stories of real people and their fate.

I am not sure whether there exist such videos about SaSu. But I think the horror stories of not a few SaSu members are way more shocking than the stories of such people portrayed in these videos. And they are not told by a third person who wants to make a quick buck with it. The irony is such people would be the most judgemental of this website.

SaSu is not THAT mainstream yet, and the *disturbing stories* would get repetitive after a while. I don't think anyone wants to listen to 10 nearly identical stories of how someone died. Yes, suicides are disturbing but not exactly eventful or interesting in most cases.
However, I did see some questionable threads, but as I said, with SaSu not being that popular it's pretty hard to find such stories unless you make an account and read posts frequently, which is way more inconvenient than just making yet another video about the same 10 most popular disturbing posts on reddit.

I think is a cult?? Could be wrong. My apologies if so but is more of dedophilic and CSA things plus if I'm not mistaken. I need to re-watch it but it got created during the pandemic (2020).

I didn't watch the video because I am not going to give my view to them but it is so hypocritical. Literally directing people to this site from what I gathered from the comments and then making a video that didn't need to be that long, long as hell for the ad revenue. I truly believe that's why there are so many shitty long videos now that could be cut down to 20 minutes or less.

I don't get how people can think her voice is AI. It has too many hardly-noticeable micro-inflections, and usually AI channels have better audio quality.

I grew up around neurodivergent kids nd teens who had odd repetitive voices just like that. I'm almost 100% certain that it isn't AI. In fact, I've watched YouTubers with almost identical voices do videos with their facecam on. Some people talk like that.

Let's focus on her egregious lack of compassion instead.

So performative. Pretending to "care" by wanting to prevent suicide and saying this site is bad for people. And yet despite sharing sensitive posts they don't censor any usernames or information. There's even posts from a long time ago, with usernames of people who probably aren't even around anymore (either due to ctb or those who simply left the site) to even advocate for themselves/change the username. It's honestly sick and I can't bring myself to fully watch the video. Zero regard for anyone's actual wellbeing.

Edit: About the voice, i think it's real. If you go to her channel and sort on 'oldest' videos you can find videos of her on camera, with pretty much the same voice. It doesn't seem like AI.

I think that's mostly just a strong regional accent. She paces things a little slowly and repetitively (as NN mentioned) too, but I think it sounds as exaggerated as it does because of a, I want to say, Yorkshire accent? (I'm american so if someone more familiar knows better, please correct me, I just find UK accents interesting)

That kind of voice is a pretty common thing in these 'deep dark corners of the internet' sorts of videos. I think it's to sound dramatic, plus stretch out video lengths. Presumably the reason it's more pronounced in voiceovers is because it'd look awkward as heck talking like that in person lol.

But yeah another tell is that the earliest videos predate the near indistinguishable TTS we have now. It helps to calibrate your spidey sense for these things by release date.

I honestly wonder if she is capitalizing on those AI meme audios that have a certain cadence ("'Wow! I haven't stubbed my toe in a week!' I said with joys. I was then shot 57 times.") to try to branch out her audience age range.

Or maybe just mimicking other YouTubers who have always had that tone of voice, like that one "Number 5" guy (iykyk). I have noticed that people with more repetitive tones of voice have gotten more popular lately, possibly for putting on in the background while you do other shit. I do that while drawing.
