Does anyone else fantasize about getting a terminal disease? I think about it every single day

It's somewhat peaceful yet scary. The thought of death is calming yet to not have control over how and when makes it less desirable to me.

Yes. I see those with the knowledge that the suffering will soon be coming to an end as being fortunate. I don't envy anyone who suffers now though, I only truly envy those who are eternally not existing as they are at peace.

I think about having cancer and only having a year at most to live. The fact that I think about this more than winning the lottery kinda says it all. Fantasizing about dying and praying for it are sadly some of my favorite escapes. Like walking down the street and a car just wipes me out. At least if I have a terminal illness I can have some time to say goodbye.

I have multiple horrible conditions that make you wish you were dead. But they haven't killed me they have instead destroyed every thing I am. I look relatively normal and not too unwell most the time which is now a bit of a curse as you aren't taken seriously. I think these horrific conditions will just torture me more and not kill me without severe hell on earth for some time. I would swap this with terminal cancer in a heartbeat. I've had a perforated bowel and sepsis and been in hell on earth many times, completely non functioning. But the suffering was so severe for me that I did everything to escape it and that meant hospital treatment. The utter cruelty of my situation and those with severe mental torture is just so cruel. There is no one holding your hand helping you along your way. There are no specialist nurses coming to support you, nothing. It's horrible

It would depend on the disease. There aren't many illnesses that will give you a swift and peaceful end...

Yes, tbh colon cancer sounds promising. Cases are apparently increasing in ppl under the age of 50. Actor Raven Symone's brother died at just age 31 recently. It says a diet high in red meat among other things can contribute to this. I've always enjoyed a carnivore diet so I could see myself eating more red meat if my income could sustain it.
