Disabled people should be able to opt out of life

I have both mental and physical disabilities that prevent me from living how I want to. I wish that it was acceptable for the disabled to opt out of life. I want my family to be able to accept my death and find it reasonable because I can't live the life I want to. I want the government to euthanize me so that it shows that my choice is socially acceptable.

I think that non disabled people should be allowed to opt out for life too. Whether you're disabled or not, it'll be inevitable that you suffer and perhaps that suffering is severe enough to quit living altogether. Nonetheless, I'm disabled and I do agree with you. It's cruel to keep us alive when we're suffering so much

Yeah, exactly this. While there are more compassionate grounds to let disabled people escape, I think we need to examine what it means by insisting that well bodied people can't. It's those well bodied people that are likely paying taxes that support everyone. So- is that ok? They have to live and stick to wage slavery because they are considered well enough to? Why should any of us comply to being a slave?

Realistically though- yeah- it will most likely be the terminally ill, then moving on to the chronically ill, then maybe chronically mentally ill that get assisted suicide first. Those of us that are well bodied have maybe 40-60 years of labour to get through that will have destroyed our bodies enough to be considered worthy of it... great.

Not that I could envy people who are disabled. That must be a terrible life but, it gets complicated when we start questionning why some people should be eligible for assisted suicide and others shouldn't. Who is it exactly we are supposed to be staying alive for- if it isn't ourselves?

It's truly horrifying how humans wish to force others to suffer like that even know none of us consented to this existence or are obligated to continue. Humans truly are the worst species with how they purposely make suicide inaccessible, where I live assisted suicide isn't even avaliable for anyone at all which is beyond hellish, it's disturbing how there is no assisted suicide even know there is no limit as to how much one can suffer.

I know many disabled people who are cracking on with life and making the best of it they can.

People can be bed ridden but happy, others can have £100million in the bank and be in great (physical) health and check out of life with a rope.

This person didn't assume anything or isn't talking about ALL disabled people. They're talking about their lived experience, and I agree completely.

I live with disability and should get access to ways to end if I want, cost and stigma be damned.
