DPH overdose is NOT pleasant.

High doses are used recreationally by some people. I tried once earlier this year, I took a very high dose. It was one of the most miserable experiences of my life.

Copy/paste from my Reddit post about it shortly after it happened:

Two weeks ago: Took 400, maybe 450mg. Physical effects, couldn't walk much, felt exhausted, couldn't concentrate. It wasn't pleasant, but it didn't feel bad enough to put me off trying again.

One week ago: Took 700mg. Couldn't get out of bed, gravity was *turnt up*, holy shit. I was shaking and spasming and every inch of my flesh was screaming to end the misery. I wasn't *actually* seeing anything, but I "felt" like something might be watching me. Sometimes I thought I saw a small flash or bit of movement in the corner of my vision.

About an hour in, it was so bad that I crawled to the bathroom. Forced myself to vomit--it was a struggle, took a while. And nothing came up but clear liquid. Too late to pussy out and get rid of the Benny in my system. I considered calling 911, but didn't. I crawled back to my room, laid in bed, and mercifully managed to pass out for several hours. I still felt like shit when I woke up, but it was manageable, not as awful as before I'd slept.

It took almost 2 days to totally come down from the worst of the effects. For several days after ingesting the Benny, I had a bit of HPPD going on, still seeing movement/flashes in my periphery. I still get it when I'm very tired.

"Miserable" is putting that second trip lightly.

I'm wondering this too. I'm thinking 5g or so with a bit of a hanging thrown in so that when I seize or pass out I hang at the same time

To be honest I think it is a risky one, but just don't overthink go at it with minimal hesitation and as long as you're not found for a while it should work. Cause it does seem a lot of people either get scared half way through and get help before it fully hits or someone finds them

I took a blister of this once just to try and get some sleep. It was awful; I was hallucinating, my legs were all over the place... I can't imagine what it would be like at a higher dose. I don't think it's a very good idea.

Sorry to sound dumb, when you say blister do you mean the full sheet or the one pill?

Like an entire sheet of it. It's like 10 pills at 50mg each, although I probably didn't take the entire blister as I'd been using it for sleep on the previous nights. Trust me it's horrible, don't bother with it. See @NearlyIrrelevantCake post above.

I tried it and there are much easier ways to go.
It was the most terrifying experience.

My body felt heavy and I was sweating so bad.
Frustration, anxiety and I just couldn't stop crying it was just a lot my mind wouldn't focus on any thought. My chest hurt slightly but as it kicked in more I was very panicked and I started seeing random things on the wall and on my arms but I was too tired to slap them off but it felt so real.

google diphenhydramine or benadryl overdosing ffs and you'll find plenty of extremely unpleasant trip reports on reddit and other forums. you'll have a "hell" of a time but you won't die. this is btw why benadryl is so readily available. because you can't kill yourself with it.

i used it "recreationally" as a young teen, it's not pleasant at all, frantic delirium, full body restlessness. imagine your leg being restless but it's your entire body, every inch, you basically writhe around and think these frantic paranoid thoughts while constantly forgetting what you were just thinking about leading to this really unpleasant state of confusion.

take 300mg you'll see how unpleasant it is, that should show anyone that it's probably suboptimal as an exit strategy.

When I was having terrible insomnia bouts I regularly took 300mg of unisom to eventually knock me out. I used to take it and wait for it to start kicking in and shower. One night I took it and got busy with my dogs, cleaning the kitchen, and etc.. I totally forgotten that I already taken the sleep aid in the middle of some last minute chores. I ended up taking 600mg. The panic attack that hit me in the shower was unreal. I was absolutely terrified. Hearing voices in the shower. I remember just being stuck. Completely out of it in a daze. Time stood still and my ex wife ended up pulling me out the shower. Once in the bed I couldn't stop seeing shadow men figures in the dark corners of the room. The paint on the walls moved in wavelike motions from where subtle light would shine through the windows. Closing my eyes I'd see faces. Trippiest shit I've ever experienced. Haven't touched sleep aid in a few years now. More the melatonin type when wanting some help falling asleep. Even now, the melatonin is no more than 10mg.

The above experiences sound awful. Just the minimal dose of benadryl, atarax, reglan, or phenergan gives me restless legs like a mofo. I wont take any of these meds for obvious reasons. I certainly wouldnt want to ctb and spend my final moments with restless legs, hallucinations, etc.
This method is very unreliable and the above posts give you an idea of the horrendous side effects.

I get all this but surely a dose of in the grams like 5 and upwards rather than less than 1g dose that's gunna kill you off like cardiac arrest or something

Bad idea for multiple reasons:

1. In doses of as little as 300mg, diphenhydramine causes very unpleasant effects. Auditory and visual hallucinations as a result of deliriant psychosis (more often then not these are quite frightening, if not traumatizing), tachycardia, arrythmias, intense bodily dysphoria, intense dry mouth to the point where swallowing is difficult without constant water, and extremely frequent urination. This is the low end of the negative effects. In doses going up to 700mg, the delirium becomes much more intense. Your entire waking existence will be hallucinations. Spiders and bugs are the most common, as well as voices constantly speaking in the background like a radio chatter. Your body will feel as if it weighs 1000 pounds, and your body and mind will feel like TV static. You will not be able to form a single coherent thought. People begin to have seizures very commonly starting at this dose as well. 1,000mg is twice as worse as 700mg, and 1,500mg four times as worse as 1,000mg. There is a risk of death when you start getting into doses like this, especially at 1,500mg, but it is still unlikely.

2. Many people take upwards of 2,000mg and survive, some upwards of 4,000mg. One, about 9,100mg and they survived. All anecdotes but I am confident that even if these stories of massive dose survivals are untrue, there is an extremely unlikely chance of dying from DPH overdose. Pills in general are not very effective for suicides. When you ingest something, your body begins digesting it and whatever is in the substances you ingested becomes like an IV drip into your bloodstream. When you vomit, that IV drip stops. It is almost guranteed that you will vomit with a dose this high, and it is also very unlikely you would even be able to get all of these pills down.

3. There are a myriad of consequences for surviving a diphenhydramine dose. Many people who survive these doses have to be on dialysis for the rest of their lives and never recover their full cognitive senses again. Intense heart issues are likely as well.

This is kinda what I'm getting at in a way. Say you're an average weight female idk 52kg your 'fatal dose' would be 2.6g so to take a does of 5g and upwards there's literally no way in hell you'd survive. Again it wouldn't be a fun death by any means with hallucinations etc. but as long as no one finds you and gets you to a hospital I'm sure within 24hrs you'd be deader than a nuns sex life

Edit to add: obviously the higher weight you are the harder it'll be because you have less room to take an extravagant dosage. Like if you're 80kg you already have to take 4g as a recommended minimum so doubling that to secure death 100% might be difficult to keep down

Does it have to be "-chlorid" or can it also just be Diphenhydramin

In this book it says: "Diphenhydramin (Diphenhydraminchlorid)". So I think both must be the same. "Letal dose 20mg per kg of body weight. Suggested dose for suicide 50mg per kg of body weight". To improve the effect and as a sleep aid, you can additionally take Zopiclom or Triazolam or Bromazepam. According this book alcohol also increases the effect of all mentioned drugs.
