No. Dad made it clear he wishes he never had kids. Mum was either emotionally cold, or wrapped me up in cotton-wool. By 16 I was one useless young man!

Honestly, this thread makes me sad. Every child should hear and feel they're loved by it's parents.
As a child my mum and day never did, but as an teen/adult my mum did. Would love to hear those words again from her.
