I'm posting a link to the story because I think some will find it interesting. One such point of interest is the 15-year old survivor. Their chosen method is another. Their "issues", etc..
What are your thoughts on all this?

I believe collective suicide is now the official conclusion.

I find things like this troubling. I am all for everyone having their own choice with regard to suicide, but this feels like there are elements of group think leading to a choice having been made for all. It makes me think of Magda Goebbels and her children in the bunker when it became clear that the end was at hand and she decided to "mercifully" spare them of a world without National Socialism. Obviously without more information this is just speculation, but an 8 and 15 YO are not in a place maturity wise to make such a decision and are clearly victims in this.

Yeah, the parents coerced their children. It was a murder-suicide by deranged parents. End of story.

Wow very interesting. Thx for sharing. Such a tragic story.

I am curious if they died instantly. 7 stories is not high at all.

I only have information from the news articles, but I assume they all died instantly (except the 15-year old, who was in a coma). I happened to be in Switzerland at the time, around 50 miles away from where it happened, and first read about it in local news. I guess we'll only know more if/when the boy recovers.
There's a news video on YouTube showing the apartment block, etc., but not revealing anything that isn't already in the article I posted.

I don't think those kids had an actual choice in this. I am kinda sad for the 15yo who survived this, because this will definitely lead to long term trauma. I would have thought that it would be an open investigation had the parents survived because an 8yo jumping with his parents from a balcony is sus.

I wish that the boy who survived will wake up again and be able to live a good life. No one deserves to be coerced into this by their parents.

I imagine the parents were terrified about their kids going into foster care. We all know there are abusers a plenty in that system! However, it is messed up to drag innocent kids into this. I'm sure they would have wanted a chance at life. I don't know how anyone could kill their own children like this.

The parents 100% coerced the children as everyone said and I hope that boy is okay almost two years later. I tried googling, but got nothing.

This reminds me a little of the mass suicide of the Chundawat family in Burari, Delhi, India in 2018. 10 people were found hanged and the grandmother had been strangled. There was a documentary on it that suggested that may have been coercion too. They believed they were being contacted from a member of the family beyond the grave through one of them.

Just checked out the article. Thanks for sharing. Not a ton of details yet about the people involved. I feel for the boy who is in a coma. I think it would suck pretty bad for him to awaken some day 😟. I question the ethics of adults taking kids with them on such a journey too.
