I am from NZ. I voted no to legalising cannabis but yes to euthanasia. Choosing to end your own life should not be a crime. But a drug that has the potential to harm others not just yourself (eg driving while under the influence) should not be made legal. Pro-cannabis people are like everyone does it anyway so it should be made legal. thats the stupidest argument iv ever heard of. if everyone did heroin should we make that legal?? what about murdering people??

Congraulations on legalising euthanasia that's a big win it's great just getting a vote, I think the UK is a long way of from even being allowed to vote, let alone legalising euthanasia or any drug, obviously New Zealand is a lot different from the UK, Politically and numbers of residents and you have different different social problems, but if we were even given the vote in the UK I think it would be a positive out come, but no Politician would give us the vote after Brexit, lol. I would like to see cannabis legalised Worldwide as it has been proved, it has marvious pain releif and lots of other amazing medical benefits, I have linked The Netherlands drug driving statics below and the medical benefits of marijuana but you got the most important vote passed.

In the UK we have different social problems I would like all drugs in the UK legalised to take organised crime out of the picture we could regulate the drugs to stop children being offered drugs to exploit and lure them into becoming drugs runners and worse activities, In the UK we have children at school who are going hungry and they are easy to groom. People are dying when they take drugs at concerts and festivals as they are mixing it with different shit the dealers don't care, we have lots of knife crime and murders on the streets with gang wars and gangs selling drugs in other gangs and profitable area's.

When I was at school a small group got involved with drugs, two of the kids were robbing there families and mugging people on the streets they were stealing from cars and houses, there was another kid who disappeared and a girl who started selling her body on the streets and years later I was told the other guy was selling his body for herion in the Westend. I get sick of seeing the herion and crack addicts robbing and murdering vulnerable people. I just think legalising drugs will stop a lot of misery, pain and suffering. Leagalising drugs won't solve all the problems because orgainised crime needs to make money so other crimes will increase.

Sorry for the long reply I would like euthanasia and drugs legalised in the UK, if I had a choice now I would to live in New Zealand.

Does cannabis use actually lead to increased road accidents though? I'm not aware of such a link. Besides, alcohol is legal to consume yet its consumption while driving leads to a obvious increase in road accidents. To remedy this they just outlawed the combination of drinking and driving, not either of them alone, and it seems we should do the same with cannabis.

Alcohol should be made illegal, then. Is there any law about that in New Zealand, or at least a project being studied among lawmakers?

I included a link from the Netherlands which show you the statics of drunk driving and drug driving and the drunk drivers far outweigh the drug drivers, which surprised me as I thought they may like a puff as well.

I find it quite idiotic when people want to ban marijuana. It poses very little harm. Marijuana should def be legalised. For example Canada has legalised marijuana and there has not been an increase in road accidents according to the stats.

Way less harm than alcohol. I am lucky to live in a state where's it legal and we haven't seen a spike in driving accidents/deaths from stoned drivers, yet drunk driving is still an issue. Distracted driving is getting to be the bigger issue. I was rear-ended on the same road in one year from people paying attention to their phones instead of the road!
