How can I avoid feeling like swallowing during partial hanging? Or at least, if possible, minimize the sensation of wanting to swallow? I'm afraid of choking to death or feeling very uncomfortable. Any suggestions?

I've never tried partial hanging before, but I keep trying to press my carotid arteries with my fingers to make myself pass out and I see one of the obstacles as the sensation of wanting to swallow when I press them, it must be anxiety, a natural reaction or something like that.

I've heard that drinking less water beforehand will help reduce the amount of saliva. I'm familiar with the urge to swallow during partial as well, it really hurts.

I've heard that for full suspension some people suggest a mouthguard, this might help with the swallow feeling.
