They probably don't. I've talked to a few people about this; a good listener has to be willing to be vulnerable and open. That means really putting themselves in their shoes to the best of their ability, trying to understand where you're coming from. But it can be scary to listen, it's easier to be less present and spout platitudes, superficial advice that may have helped them.But they just keep on talking and talking and the way I see it, they don't really hear me.
