- "Please go to therapy, get professional help, reach out for someone, we care about you"
No you cared only when I said to want to kill myself, also I went to therapy, reached out, and ironically those were the defining actions that led me to the road of suicidal intentions, doesn't work, next!
Is this gonna magically stop me somehow? I'm so confused, next!
- "Stay strong/Hang in there"
Stayed strong and hanged in, guess what? Things got worse! Next!
- "You don't want to kill yourself, you just want to end the pain, death isn't the answer"
If that was the case, I wouldn't have been here to write this damn post dude, tell me if there's another way to end the pain beside from distractions from it (For examples: finding a hobby, loving someone, "take care" of yourself, etc...) because otherwise, death is the only answer I see that end the pain completely and forever, next!
- "If you don't want to live so much, why don't you just kill yourself already"
Have you ever heard of "survival instincts"? Like, that primal things that is embedded in our dna and every other organisms which only functions is to keep us from not dying? Yeah it's a hard thing to overcome. It's like saying "you don't want to be homeless? Just get a house !!!!", ignorant, naive, close minded "advice", next!
- "You're young, you still have time to fix it/you'll change your mind"
Mate, I'm nearly 20, I have no skills, or talents or any capability to survive by myself let alone in today's world so trying to fix or change my mind would be a waste of time and I'll only suffer more so why do that when I can set myself free now?
- "We're all going to die anyway, so why rush it? Keep living and maybe things will turn out to be better"
But that's the point sir, I don't want to live, why should it matter if I "rush it" or not? I won't just continue to torture myself just to prove to some stranger's view on life is right. And what if it don't get better? The only person that suffer the consequences of "waiting it out" would be me. Another very biased and naive advice, next!
- "I tried and regretted it so please don't do it"
I'm sorry that you had to go through all that traumas and hope you're getting better but your experiences aren't a objective ones so please don't say that to people who's going through things like you did, it's not helpful and invalidating
- "If you're at the bottom, the only way is up"
This is very positively biased. Sure, for most it would be, but for people like me, we no longer have the will to "go up" anymore and in result, remain at that bottom, so please at least give us a chance to free ourselves from the bottom other than the typical "perseverance porn" we romanticized so much.
Welp, that's it so far. I wonder what other empty platitudes I'll encounter next! Hopefully I'd be dead before anymore comes because dear lord it makes my soul rot bit by bit just from hearing them.
