Help Dark net market updates?

Hi, I was just wondering if the info in "sticky thread" here is still all relivent, as it was made in 2022.
Or is their anything that has changed, or anything better I should be doing when I do venture down that rabbit hole?

Information is mainly good, just the current markets are different.

The current markets are different AND I wouldn't recommend using a VPN when connecting to TOR because TOR already does the routing part three times. Even on the official TOR website, they don't recommend using a VPN. A pure TOR connection is way more unsuspicious (and safer) than a VPN + TOR connection.

Install tails to a USB drive and use that + Tor. you may need to buy a separate wi-fi adapter depending on what kind of computer you have as well, but Tor takes care of all the networking and all you need is to make sure you're not using an OS that's gonna snoop on your shit or leave behind a digital paper trail to get you v&. Don't feel like it's "too much work" to protect yourself. Life may be hard now but it'll be infinitely harder with prison time and community service and being monitored by POs, aka irl hall monitors.

besides that msot of the info holds up, just find a link to Dread and look for resources there, make sure you go with reputable vendors only and remember that people on the dark net want repeat customers, not one stop droppers so make sure that what you do buy can be combined or consumed in a way that would actually .. produce the results you want.

anyways if you can decipher this graph then whatever conclusions you take from it will probably be beneficial in the long run lol

1. Download tor browser
2. go to tor.taxi or dark.fail in tor browser
3. find the link with & read the dark net market user's bible (look on dread forum if it's not on tor.taxi/dark.fail)

The guide on here is very general. The dark net users bible is far more comprehensive & step-by-step.

TAILS probably isn't necessary vs. simply TOR/VPN unless one plans to (a) purchase regularly OR (b) purchase in large amounts

I personally use whonix in a virtual machine, but I've been using the dark net since 2017. This level of security is absolutely unnecessary for one time buyers.

Yeah, I planned on using tails, But wasn't sure if I should still use a VPN or not, I guess not since TOR basically does more or less the same, only better.

Why not both? Not looking to CTB immediately, but it would be comforting knowing I've got the means available.
So might as well try to have some fun in the meantime too. As I'm scared to buy anything "for fun" locally, as everything here is cut with god knows what
As far as shipping, should I get a PO box and use a fake name on the label? Should I just use my regular address, and if so, should I use a fake or real name? And would a fake name draw attention as the rest of the mail is in my name, but that one piece isn't?

As far as shipping, should I get a PO box and use a fake name on the label? Should I just use my regular address, and if so, should I use a fake or real name? And would a fake name draw attention as the rest of the mail is in my name, but that one piece isn't?

Using your own address is generally less suspicious and draws less attention, especially if you're just ordering personal use quantities.

As everything I've read says Monero is a main step, feel like this is going to complicate things

Yeah losing LocalMonero is pretty unfortunate

They are only one of the XMR options but they were pretty reliable/trusted for a long time. I'm looking into other options now as I was planning to buy some more Monero soon but I haven't settled on a definite option yet.

There seems to be a bit of a crackdown on privacy coins lately:

I know they aren't the only option, but what I read they were pretty straightforward.
Why couldn't I have ventured into this a month ago? Lol

Use your real name. Fake names are more suspicious/likely to get flagged.

As far as the DNB - the author really pushes the use of Tails. I can see this if you are looking to use DNMs regularly. But if you're just going to make a single, relatively small purchase, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just make sure to use VeryCrypt or Bitlocker on your computer, no fingerprint or face log in. Always Lock/log out/shut down the computer when you step away from it, and you will never have to worry about anyone getting your info.
