It's pretty straightforward, how long should I be left alone when I cut my arm and how deep should the cut be? Also how do I make sure I touch the main vein

Cutting is dangerous as bacteria can enter your blood steam and you get sepsis. Blood poisoning is really painful way to die. Your limbs turn black and they need to be amputated.

What method would u recommend, I have access to labs so I think I can get my hands on mercury or cyanide, should I js poison myself

Ctb by wrist cutting is generally not the best idea, the success rate is very low, and I believe it has been discussed as a method you shouldn't attempt in a sticky thread somewhere here before.

One could stab themselves as a more ''higher'' form of this method, but the grotesque look (and agony) will usually make people stop before they can even hit anything.

Cutting definitely isnt reliable, I opened up my arms a lot years ago in a hot bathtub to the point the water was all orange / reddish tinted and the wounds closed underwater after like a hour. If you do manage to cut deep enough to sever the arteries in your arms it should work with proper blood flow, but it isnt easy to cut that deep, the necessary depth is like several centimeters.
