I agree with you. It was straight situation for him, he had courage to do It. He might have even checked this site, who knows? Imagine this...Thanks, good article and I did not know about that. I guess it would be hard for a doctor to be in that position. Still it seems he was bound to die in a few years which would have been terrible. Great courage on his side to take the matter on his hands IMO.
Most people on this forum are not going through same black and white situation -I mean I try to think what can we learn from this. Like he had to go both through prolonged pain and prospect of having this pain continue or get worse. This might have made easy for him to project current pain into the future and feel directly what he will feel like, but knowing It won't stop making him hopeless. So he had to be both hopeless and in pain at the same time.
I have in my life moments of pain and despair, but also happy moments, so I cannot make decision to ctb, even if I do not like life in general.
