I can't find any sources for SN in the UK and as I am still living with my parents I am worried that if the SN is seized I will get caught and get myself in trouble. I am planning on CTB-ing off one of the many bridges available in London. It is approximately 50ft above water and I am planning on stuffing a backup full of rocks and just running off and jumping. Any thoughts?

I don't know why I am typing this but I just know that I can't let anyone in my life know. Not only do they not care, they will probably tell me something about being selfish and give me another live for me speech.

Melbourne's highest bridge is the 58 metre / 190 ft West Gate. It seems that more than 10% of people who jumped actually survived. When I was young, this was my first planned CTB method. Ah, the nostalgia...

In short, not recommended.

If you don't know how to swim, it could definitely work as you would drown. Assuming it's not an extremely shallow body of water.

People tend to assume that jumpers want to die upon impact. I'm a jumper at heart and I fully expect to drown. Not die as soon as I hit the water. SMH.

If you know how to swim and/or expecting an impact death, I'd be skeptical.

Fifty feet into water won't hurt you at all- people do this all the time for fun- it may as well be five feet, to be honest. You really need 200 feet into water to be confident. I hope you can find peace somehow.

The idea of placing weights in a backpack is not a bad idea. The only thing about it, though, is that, assuming you survive the fall, you need to make sure the backpack cannot be removed from your person. If you hit the water and are not injured, you may be able to remove the backpack quickly and swim to shore. If you lock the backpack onto yourself so it cannot be removed, you stand a better chance of sinking and drowning, unless you are very strong and able to overcome the extra weight and keep yourself afloat. You may encounter some serious SI at some point after hitting the water, assuming you overcome any SI just to be able to make the jump. With SI can come some remarkable strength, so you may be able to keep yourself above water even with the extra weight. Also, you will most likely be spotted jumping and hitting the water, so expect rescue craft to come to your aid very quickly.

I hope you are able to find peace through some other means... drowning in the water with the backpack weighing you down sounds so terrifying. I'm sorry life has brought you to this point.

Falling 50ft and hitting water most likely wouldn't kill you on impact, meaning you will probably break bones/damage organs and then drown afterwards. Maybe you already knew that though. Personally, it sounds like a painful way to go, but in the end it is a personal choice.

I'm sorry life has been so difficult for you ❤️ I don't know what your life is like, but if you ever want to talk about it this is a good place for that.

SN I don't think is illegal to own, but you know they are never going to make CTB easy for us. As for your SN getting seized, the only ones who might seize it would be your parents.😜

Jumping can be seriously risky if it isn't a considerable height

You need to make sure it's at least 200 ft. It was my method but I ruined my chance. Please don't repeat my mistake and try to lower your SI with something, possibly alcohol. I regret not doing that.
Also keep in mind that random people might see you and report you. After that there is certain time when you can jump before the police come.
I wish life wasn't so cruel to you and I'm sorry that this is where it ends, but then again you know the best for yourself and I wish it goes peacefully.

I think I am just hoping that if I do go through with it that nobody comes to rescue me. I am relying on drowning to completely end me. I think it all comes down to my SI and how likely I will swim. I haven't swam in 6 years so I assume I don't know how to...

I think I would take any way out of this world at this point. I just need to find the time to do it. Life is so busy, although I guess that is a good thing but death is always on my mind. The sound of falling and inevitably dying sounds calming as nothing will matter when I die anyway.

Thank you StrangePossum, I hope life becomes easy at one point

I wouldn't bank on that. If you knew how to swim, you still do. Like riding a bike............you never really forget. Everyone has SI to some extent.

I am planning to do something similar. Not counting on impact at all. In fact I'd rather not have the impact add unnecessary pain to the process. The main question is how to secure the backpack to your body in a way that's not too conspicuous. That is perhaps of little concern in most places if you are going to jump in the middle of the night, but where I live all bridges are monitored.
