I'm in the NYC metro area and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for methods for those living here.
- Guns seem to be out because this area is so strict on gun control. (Unless someone has an idea for private sellers.)
- SN is pretty much impossible to access and the MIC vendors I've spoken to seem hesitant to ship here. Plus it seems like a risk with customs/local police.
Is jumping pretty much the only reasonable method here? I've explored this option thoroughly and walked several bridges in the area. SI is difficult to overcome but I can't really find any other method.
- Manhattan Bridge was promising because it's open 24/7 with no security and a climb-able fence, but it's only 135 ft above the water, which seems to carry a real risk of just getting injured, not dying.
- High 200 ft+ bridges in the area, mainly the George Washington Bridge and Bayonne Bridge, have reinforced their anti-suicide methods in recent years (damn, just my luck!) and have high fences and/or security patrols.
- Walkway over the Hudson bridge in Poughkeepsie (212 ft above water, 80-minute train ride north of NYC, low railings) seemed promising, but it's such a tourist attraction that there are bystanders everywhere. Plus it closes at 7:30/8pm and has security patrols.
My life is awful and just keeps getting worse. I'm desperate, and have been looking to ctb for 3 months now. Is there any reasonable method for those of us in the NYC area?
