I saw the crisis team today (I'm in the uk) and they said they're considering breaking confidentiality to inform my parents of my current risk level and I just don't understand??

I've expressed time and time again that it doesn't make anything better it makes things worse and I don't really understand how they can do that if they deem I have capacity I'm just so frustrated and anxious rn

That's why i always read that you should not confide your suicidal thoughts to anyone unless it's completely anonymous.

I think it's more my self harm but all of it in general, but yeah I think I've made a mistake thinking I can trust them:/

I don't really understand tbh. I can't understand how they can say I have capacity but at the same time override my decisions like that

Insanely illegal actually, but been there, a psychiatrist seeing me when I was in psych ward outed me as homosexual to my mother. It's a way for them to wash their hands despite what happens to you, and legally repercussions rarely come because the patients don't [usually] have the resources to pursue anything over it.

Even then I don't understand how they would be allowed to do that when you're 18+.. Are you actually 18+?

Or they don't care, and agree with the abusive language the shrinks use

Them not caring and being burnt out on their job is exactly why they wanna wash their hands, they wanna get rid of a patient so they illegally break confidentiality. They don't wanna do their job.

Yes I'm 25, they explained it as if something were to happen to me and they knew the risks then they could be held liable. I'm going to read up on the laws but it's confusing:(

I would personally get a lawyer (just in general as well)

UK seems to suck a lot with the laws on autonomy

I read time and time again that it's not a good idea to tell a doctor or someone like that that you are suicidal.

All of these crisis lines are all staffed by moles. The sole purpose of them is to bait in people like us, so they can easily find us and rat us out. They don't care about making out lives more miserable.

These institutions under capitalism don't have your best interest at heart. They probably follow a protocol in dealing with suicidal people.

ב''ה,

The world over, there is no such thing as patient privacy to this industry ("that's for lawyers and we're not lawyers") and objecting will add to your diagnoses.

Don't bother.
