• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

People on hotlines are just people. It's not that intense a training. I did it for a long time.

Ted Bundy volunteered at suicide prevention call center. Apparently no red flags were spotted by his supervisors.
Yeah, I think it was a work-study program for his psychology degree.

He also saved a boy from drowning.

It seems odd that a guy like him could talk someone down from the edge, but serial killers often are masters at compartmentalization.

I heard most of them volunteer just for status or to be seen as "helpful" to the society when they have no freaking clue what they are doing. Especially when you tell them you are suicidal, they would push you into answering what they want and never accept "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" as an answer (they'd rather you make things up)
Just wonder what could be the question that they push you into answering. Nevertheless i believe you, just asking. From my experience talking to hotlines is like talking to chatgpt, they mostly offer no advice and simply sympathize because its their job. Not sure if it could be improved tho

The last bit of the sentences referred to when I was in the hospital, after attempting and I believe while I was already hooked up to an IV (or was going to be) and this MH nurse really wouldn't leave me alone at all and kept on being in my face and pushing for information so I had nowhere to go and nowhere to escape anyways even if I don't want to answer her...
