The way you describe it does make it sound not too bad.129,968
I was thinking about something I lost. Also, don't feel sorry. It was not a bad experience. It was very curious and mentally expansive.
I'd describe it as this deep, viscerally intense feeling of sadness that you can feel tingling, almost thumping in your chest... Although it "feels bad", it does not produce any sentiment of suffering, or any desire to act upon anything. In this sense, it's entirely different from when I'm depressed. As a matter of fact, I would even say that I can feel passion and warmth beneath that mountain of sadness. So, it's unpleasant, but it's also kind of not. Despite this unpleasantness, I'd describe it as positive and enlightening.
For me it's pain that hurts.
