Kant fucking sucks. The very idea of deontology makes me scoff and roll my eyes; so much naivete and self-righteousness...
There's a reason his name is pronounced as can't.

Concur. I just have to have read him. He's not a very good writer, it feels like he is intentionally obfuscating his points often times. Hegel was similar, where his points only really worked because his semantics are in a swamp. I might just be missing something though because obviously he is very popular and influential. FWIW, I like virtue ethics

Idk anything about Denotology, I never had to study him in any psychology class. But I looked him up, and... Yup, I totally get it now, he sure is boring

Yep. A considerable amount of our contemporary systems of ethics and morality are based on Kant's ideas and work, and people follow them whether they realize it or not; he was the one, after all, that made major steps away from relying exclusively on God-given morality (and yet he still clings to it like it's an untenably important centerpiece of ethical value), and reinforced the principle of moral responsibility that is innately assigned to all humans. As a staunch moral relativist, I absolutely hate his points.
Sometimes, I wish that we would have a society which follows Kantian philosophy less blindly and unknowingly; but then, society would also be a lot worse off if people realize that they don't have an obligation to be good, and then we may not have much of a society.
The only thing I use Kant for is regarding proven metaphysics, because if we don't take care of that, we could pull the Flying Spaghetti Monster out of thin air and invent anything without any basis.

I think what frustrates me about Kant's ethics is that he very clearly wants to have his cake and eat it too. I believe in G-d so I do subscribe to objective morality, but for moral relativism I usually prefer the pragmatists, but that might just be my american bias ;)
I have an acquaintance who's currently going through an extremely tough time. He got desperate enough that he went to see a shaman. He didn't ask why it's happening to him; he asked "Who is doing this to me?". He got told that four deities are watching him and none of them want to speak to him, and that one of them also thinks he has mommy issues (This one in particular is apparently a few thousand years old and was born during antiquity.).
Like, wow... Forsaken by four gods at once... They definitely have popcorn in their hands as we speak.
It's okay, though, because they are all lower deities; none of the cosmic big shots care. So, maybe he has a chance!

I don't have a religion, but I'm quite critical of Christianity because it's a great tool for opportunists, with the talk of being born a sinner, placing a guilt that doesn't even exist, where the person has to follow a certain book to earn paradise in death, a place no one ever returns to, one of the biggest scams in history, from my point of view.
also @Arvayn actually there is:
fortunately a user here has developed a usercript that gives one much more control and generally improves the site, including this aspect.
There have been a few threads in the suggestions subforum that can be done client-side, plus some other things that annoyed me about the site ui, so I made a little userscript to fix them. It can: hide those useless chat notification bubbles hide the word "suicide" in headers and page titles...
