I like that take on it actually, I guess in a sense yes. But then again maybe not, every person has their unique touch to give to art. It's what makes it beautifully human. Your perception is the lense to wherever you create.

guess it depends on what you want to create. my favorite static visual art is like a dreamy mirror of reality - impressionism and its descendents - and i think what objectively makes an artist skilled is their ability to actualise whatever is in their mind (schools of technique and style be damned because those are restrictive)

I absolutely agree. I think I'd say there nowadays is performance art and informal art kind of. Hard to explain but, if you can place yours thoughts on paper freely it's different then if you constrict yourself to a certain technique or style (= the prison of art school) anyway-
