drawing, i dunno, i feel like you have to see the world in a certain way. parts as opposed to wholes, which has never been me.

I absolutely agree. I think I'd say there nowadays is performance art and informal art kind of. Hard to explain but, if you can place yours thoughts on paper freely it's different then if you constrict yourself to a certain technique or style (= the prison of art school) anyway-i think what objectively makes an artist skilled is their ability to actualise whatever is in their mind (schools of technique and style be damned because those are restrictive)
