Yeah, that's my bad. I put new york population into google and it must have only given me the population for new york city instead of the state. 19mil + now that'd really drive me mad! I need my own island somewhere 😂.

What kind of soup? I don't mind a soup here and there but I don't have it too often.

The Changeling (1980)

Screenshot 20221025 1547562

I went into this one completely blind, didn't even google it beforehand so I was curious as to what the movie would be about with a name like "The Changeling". The first thing that hit me (which I liked) was that this isn't just a straight up horror/scary movie, there's elements of normal mixed throughout the madness, which is what a lot of modern films of the same genre struggle with, they're too busy filling the film up with scare after scare that it loses all it's "spooky factor". Once I saw George C. Scott as the main protagonist I was skeptical, I didn't think he could pull off a character like this in a movie such as this but he held his own. I'll tell you another thing I enjoyed, they didn't have John fall in love with Claire, the estranged husband hooking up with the main female protagonist is overused in movies like these, if your wife and kid just died you're not going to just go immediately jumping into bed with the first lady who is nice to you (especially in your haunted house no less). The scariest scene in the movie was by far the scene where that lady is contacting Joseph and scribbling on the paper, really well acted, the blank stare was terrifying, it reminded me of something on the level of The Exorcist, another great mindfuck horror movie. The drowning of young Joseph was another scene that left me with chills, not many films are willing to include child abuse material such as that. My only knock on the film was the opening sequence, they didn't make it clear enough that the wife and daughter were killed as collateral damage in the car crash, until they cut to the next scene I was left wondering "wait, are they dead or not?". Really good movie, one of the best that you've suggested. 9/10.

Edit: it didnt seem to load my gif that I attached to the message (unless you can see it and it's just on my end). Anyway, the gif is just Joey Tribbiani eating soup.

I just had this with 2 pieces of buttered and toasted Italian bread.

Image 1 of Campbell's Chunky Savory Chicken with White & Wild Rice Soup

I had to look up Joey Tribbiani. The only sitcoms I ever watched were Mash, All in the Family, Happy Days, Taxi, Gomer Pyle and of course Seinfeld. Maybe a little Andy Griffith Show and Bewitched( to drool over Elizabeth Montgomery).

Excellent review, as always. The beginning with the truck crashing into the family car killing the wife and daughter was meh, IDK, very staged,I guess. The rest of the movie was great....creepy as hell. I agree completely, any other movie would have George C Scott and Trish Van Devere(his wife IRL) hooking up, but Peter Medak wanted to just concentrate on the story and that creepy house. I love this movie and am so glad you enjoyed it too.

Sorry, my internet was down for the last 45 minutes. It's like living in a third world country here.

FRIENDS is an alright sitcom for the first 3 seasons, has that "homely" vibe to it (if you know what I mean). Seasons 4-6 are okay as well but the last 4 seasons venture into ridiculousness although a lot of people still enjoy them so what do I know I suppose 🤷.

Seinfeld is a classic! I also like Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond. We have a channel on free to air TV called 10Peach which randomly shows most of these.

You must have heard about the show's creator groveling and pandering on the altar of wokeness and diversity....incredible.

"Friends" is a huge part of American pop culture, but the TV show's legacy hasn't been above reproach after many critics have brought attention to the sitcom's lack of diversity. Now, more than 25 years after it first aired, one of the show's creators is speaking out.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman addressed the critique she's heard over the years, saying that "admitting and accepting guilt" about the show's perceived shortcomings was "not easy."

Part of the TV writer's plan to effect change includes a $4 million price tag after donating the money to her alma mater nine miles outside of Boston, Brandeis University, to establish an endowed professorship in the university's African American studies department.

Oh my god! These celebs and producers must have nothing better to do with their time than virtue signal lol.

The lack of diversity stuff drives me bananas. Thankfully it's not too bad over here (yet). I see all the sports talking heads over there seem to moan about there not being enough black head coaches, totally ignoring the fact that 90% of the professional athletes over there are black and genetically blessed with unbelievable athleticism.

I'm so tired of these guilt ridden white libtards. They live in their all white, gated communities and have no clue. Pieces of shit, everyone of them. There are barely any white people in advertisements anymore. If there are any, it's an interracial couple and the white guy is always a doofus. I hate this fuckin world. Anyway, this gave me a laugh. It's from a sitcom called The King of Queens. I have never watched an episode but judging from the clips that I have seen on YouTube, I should watch it.

You picked that scene because of the Asian commonality with the King of Queens. Did you know there was something else in common? You probably did. Jerry Stiller was in both sitcoms.

Jerry Stiller was hilarious in Seinfeld as Frank 😂.

Here is another from the King Of Queens. This time with Frank, I mean, Jerry Stiller.

Changing tune, I was at the supermarket today and they have packaged apple crumbles that they sell, im not sure if they sell them year round or they're just a special because it's almost Christmas season but next time im there I plan to get one and try it out. I'll see if it's any good. If it isn't then ill make my own later down the track. Some of the packaged stuff you can get is surprisingly good.

Interesting. I've had apple crumble pie many times. I don't recall just having an Apple crumble, but I'm sure I did at some point. There are 2 companies that have sales for Apple and pumpkin pies this time of year, Mrs Smith's and Sara Lee. Heat an Apple Crumble in the oven until it's nice and hot, then put a good quality vanilla ice cream on top of it. Delicious.

Here is a site with a lot of information.

Sorry, I was watching Tucker on Rumble. Rumble is a good alternative to the liberal YouTube and so far I haven't seen any ads, which makes one wonder about their business model. Apparently, they sell cloud services too. I hope they can stay in business because the amount of ads on YouTube is annoying beyond belief.

Going back to movies if you don't mind, did you ever see John Wick? I think there's 3 of them. I saw the first one the other night. Violent beyond words. I like revenge movies but Keenan Reeves killed more Russians in that movie than the entire Ukrainian army has so far. It was exhilarating to watch but more of a shoot 'me up video game than a movie. Still, I watched it from beginning to end and was entertained at least.

Yes, I went to my brother's house on Saturday. My older nephew loves the John Wick movies. In fact, that's the only reason I watched it. They mentioned the Mel Gibson directed movie "Hacksaw Ridge" as being very good. I must try that one.
They mentioned a lot of movies, but with me they go in one ear and out the other. I know my nephew loves "Tommy Boy" from 1995 and most of the classics we have seen.

It's good to see you're still in contact with your siblings, from what ive seen that's a rarity. In our family you have a better chance at being struck by lightning than spending 5 minutes alone civilly with your fellow offspring. I've never told you this but im technically an uncle, I say technically because I have no contact with the kid or my older half brother for that matter. It's for the best though I can't stand being around kids. I believe she's 2 years old now. I don't believe people should have kids especially when you're in the financial situation he's in but hey... it's not my problem and that's all that matters 🤣

I can't stand being around kids either. This is a broad generalization, but families in NYC are pretty close. This place is so big and so crowded, you can feel very alone and lost. It's hard to explain, but family insulates you and gives you a sense of comfort and belonging from all the craziness surrounding you.
It's tough to find someone to start a family with here though. Many people just give up and live single all their lives like me.
