I do reckon legalised prostitution would be a good change for the world, hoping that it helps prevents or greatly reduces sex trafficking, slavery and abuse.
It's an interesting idea. I suppose legalising it and strictly regulating it would hopefully mean people's welfair would be better taken care of. There again, what industries don't exploit workers if they can? Even if they are legal?
I'm not sure about the principle overall though. Legalising it legitimizes it more. So- more demmand presumably- which creates an even bigger market for the illegal type I imagine. Not sure really.
Plus- how far do you go legally? Surely, there will still be some appetites it won't be legal to satisfy. I doubt it would eliminate the illegal type all together. I also think that feeding an addiction obviously makes it grow. Plus, if it's dark to begin with, there's a chance it could grow even darker.
I also have similar concerns to
@WhiteRabbit . Maybe it would help them to let off some steam but- what would we actually be doing here? Offering women up as objects to be used and possibly, abused? Will that really do much to improve their misogyny towards women?
There can sometimes be something darker going on too. There have been serial killers who used prostitutes themselves. They make some claim about it being immoral etc. but then, can't resist it either. Then, they seem to punish the women in the most brutal way possible.
It's like they hate being so controlled by their sexual/ relational need for women. Then, they hate being exploited for that need when women charge for it. If they resent those things, it's not hard to imagine where that resentment would fester.
I found
@Pluto 's contribution interesting though OP, on your previous thread. Their cat memes are always on point and funny but, I've missed their reasoning around here.
I think they could well be right regarding the more incel, hateful stuff. I suppose having more sex and relationships would legitimise them more in their own minds. Again though, it troubles me- at what cost? Why should a woman want or have to be with someone who thinks so badly of them? (Not all are misogynistic of course but some, certainly are.)
That's often my feeling though. It may not be their lack of looks, height or weath that put women off. It may well be their hostile, misogynistic attitude.
Of course, which came first is harder to determine- the hostility putting people off having sex/ relationships with them or the prolongued no sex making them hostile to begin with. Like a chicken and egg scenario.
I still find the expectation/ entitlement part disturbing though. A desire for it is one thing. A lot of us will have experienced that but to feel owed it. How can you ultimately? This is another person you're demanding something of. Should gay men get angry with them because they won't let them f*ck them?
Plus, just giving them it, effectively offering women to them without them having to change simply condones their desires/ behaviour. I also agree with others that it's questionable it would actually make them change. I suspect they'd still be angry they are paying for it and that good looking people who they assume are more able to make money either don't need to pay for it or, can afford 'prettier' prostitutes or prostitutes that will perform more extreme acts for them.
I'm not sure this does actually have so much bearing on this most recent case though. I suppose a morbid curiosity had me looking through his posts. I'm pretty sure he spoke of being asexual at one point and actually being repulsed by sex. Not sure, maybe I remembered that wrongly. I think this guy just detested life being brought into this world. So, being appalled by sex would actually fit better in a way.
