The answer to your question is simply "no". You cannot reasonably and reliably contract a terminal illness on purpose. It simply isn't possible in practical reality.
I study medicine, and i'm thinking just like you, for what i know a desbalance of electrolites can kill you in an instant, electrolites are well controlled in our body but you can make the desbalance happen, potasium is the most dangerous, it can provoke your heart to stop. I am thinking like going extra hidrated and like going for a run when there is a full sun and heat. The thing is that maybe because you passed out firts someone could call an ambulance for you, and i dont really now if it hurt going like thatHi, hope to get a constructive response.
If someone didn't mind drawing out the process along months, with some pain along the way and letting a progressive illness take them out (easier on family vs suicide amongst other reasons), what would be some ways to fuck up the body that could make the body seriously struggle to continue and one day give up?
Something a bit faster than drinking/smoking/eating to death that wouldn't be instant like SN and other popular methods here but still increasingly lethal the more you do it.
The 2 organs to target I would think are the heart and lungs, are there any foods or substances taken to excess that would seriously undermine them?
Sorry if this comes across as silly or ignorant, would really appreciate some interesting ideas.

Sounds plausible but difficult.
If you want to get severe heat injury you'd probably stack on alot of clothing under intense heat. Make sure to add on lots of diuretics/antipsychotics/antihistamines for good measure. I am assuming these are (relatively) easy to obtain. Then go under the hot sun and run a marathon. Make sure there's no one around to notice you.
Not a 100 percent full proof method but has a chance of end organ damage.
Right, i'm still working on it, the thing is i hate that we are forced to do it like this, to plan it like this, assistencial suicide is easy for a case in terminal patient, but the truth is that is unethical for medicine to prolong the suffer, so why someone with mayor depression that suffers everyday can't get a dignified death??? I would love to donated my organs after im gone, so people that are fighting to stay, may have the chance, im fighting to go
My point is that it's wrong, we should be able to decide about our death, is part of OUR life, it has to be legal. I went to OD twice TWO TIMES and didn't die, then i know this girl who accidentally mixed alcohol with pills (just like i did) and she went into a coma and die months later in an hospital bed. Like whaaaat the f, she didn't even notice as far as we know, she just died, and me with 2 attempts can't get that lucky, like seriously what the f is wrongI just find the human body extremely resilient to alot of external shocks.. You have to really think and plan things through. It isn't easy to find the winning formula that combines ease of access with painlessness and reliability. I'm still perfecting my own plan every day.
Clonazepam, lamotrigin, antihistaminic and a lot of alcohol, vodka mostly. I passed out, never died, both times someone found me and i ended up at tje hospital where they washed my stomach and fuckin saved my lifeWhat did you try to OD with?

Yeah; I have felt envious of those who don't have loved ones who care about them, crazy isn't it... I wouldn't have these strong emotional bonds and worry about devastating anyone... Because I've been through a lot of pain I think fuck it just bring something ugly and terminal on to hopefully finish me off, although I don't have the 'courage' or balls to end it instantly, I'd rather start something and let it take me out; that's also thanks to decades of religious indoctrination and fear of an afterlife, somehow not pulling the metaphorical and literal trigger makes me feel less guilty...Inflicting yourself cancer (or other hurtful evils) is a large sacrifice in order to conceal a suicidal intent in order to protect loved ones. Would you make it worthwhile by taking a vacation as death tourism at the radiation zone of Tchernobyl ? long-stay ? Meh...
I'd dream of such end only if it could open up an approval at a swiss clinic. But to keep a blatant sefl-harm under control can be compromised.
Would be so cool if you could give up your life to help other people, I even once started looking up volunteering to help in war zones haha.
That would indeed be cool and not haha at all, if you have skills that can be useful in those circumstances. Go for it x
A well-planned and well-executed mishap would make a lot more sense.
Gosh your still very young. Looking at the latest stats from Lancet, Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally, followed by cancer. In the British Journal of Cancer recently they said that 1 in 3 men will develop cancer in their lifetime, whereas for women this number was 1 in 2. I dont know whether that makes you feel any better? You certainly need to have an invested interest if you mean to CTB in this manner.Hi, hope to get a constructive response.

Where I live, the pandemic means jobs like contact tracing, delivering food, housekeeping and food services in hospitals are hiring.
Hell yeah man (not specifically due to maoist ideals lol), but a selfish desire of mine would have been to have lived centuries ago where war was much more prevalent and you could have given your life in battle for the cause of your country and others. War and the army exist today but hopefully you know what I mean, it was much more common and easier to enlist at the time.I have considered the same via enlistment with Nepalese Maoist guerillas: what better way to go out but with gun in hand, fighting for a Maoist Nepal?
Thanks, yeah I am aware of the stats but I had thought men were more susceptible to cancer? They die a little younger on average I think. It's more desperation unfortunately than invested interest. Me too. Praying for it every day even. Going down "naturally" sure goes easier on family and mind. Trying every day to spike my chances of getting it. Atleast my family health history comforts me. Its either cancer, heart attack or stroke. Every second one of us usualy gets gravely ill. I hope im that second one, wouldnt want my brother to go early. If I were diagnosed with cancer I would kiss the ground in gratitude and let nature take its course. I smoke like a fiend, heedless of the health risks, all the while waiting...and waiting...and waiting...
