I've decided hanging is probably one of the most reliable and easily accessible methods for me. From what ive seen, partial suspension seems to be a popular choice but I've seen it described as being difficult and risky so I'm going for full suspension. I get that it's hard to find a good way to fully hang so I'm wondering if hanging from a tree would work? There's a whole forest behind my house so I'm sure I could find a tree to hang from.

I've also heard full suspension is more instant. Is that true? I'm just trying to avoid partial hanging because i don't feel like going through the prolonged suffering, especially if there's a high chance the method won't work. Also the amount of trial and error ive seen with partial hanging sounds exhausting.

Hanging is only instant if you fall from a drop based on your weight in order to break your neck. I think people call this "medieval hanging," designed with a drop of 5-8 feet. otherwise, you're relying on strangulation (a few minutes), or ideally, blocking blood flow to your brain by compressing your carotids (5-30 seconds).

i've read personal experiences ranging from FSH (without this orchestrated drop) being as easy as just a few seconds of minor discomfort and no pain before falling into dreary unconsciousness, to the most painful experience they've ever had, exactly what you'd expect from your entire body weight being suspended by your neck with what feels like a string cutting into your throat.

Loe claims only 3kg of pressure is necessary to fully compress your carotids, so he suggested partial as a more comfortable and equally effective method for vascular compression compared to the more intensive FSH. you can look for the megathread on the resources compilation for his whole breakdown of that. I'm also deciding between psh and fsh, though I'd imagine they both probably feel like shit.
