If you get hit in the mid-left part of your chest directly over the heart, with 50 joules of energy, you have a 10-40 millisecond window where your heart can stop completely and 97% chance you will die.
I've tried hitting myself multiple times with a 5lbs/2kg dumbbell over a towel really hard, but I don't think this is easy to replicate.
I don't know if the towel is preventing it, but according to sources, protection usually isn't enough to stop this, and you could experience that in boxing with cushioned gloves.
Man I wish some accidents would happen to me. This could be the mother of all methods if you knew exactly when to strike and if chest tissue didn't get red.
On labs, they have replicated this with 100% accuracy on sedated swines and it always worked. The animals didn't feel pain from impact cause they were asleep.
Cardiac arrest is literally the best way to ctb. You go to sleep in a matter of seconds and very low chance to wake up. There is no SI. Just lights out.
