Method Co-codamol Curiosities

Hey everyone

I had planned a recent suicide attempt but my plans were thwarted after having a car accident - nothing major but I am without a car for a few more weeks.

For the back pain I'm suffering with, from above incident, I was today given a box of 100 co-codamol 15mg/500mg tablets.

My question is; if I were to take all 100 tablets, would it be fatal or just cause me serious pain and a trip to the ICU.

That would be 50 grams of paracetamol. I'm not sure you would keep all of it down long enough to be absorbed, but that is a potentially lethal dose. It would NOT be a peaceful death, and you wouldn't necessarily die, and it could take a while (like a couple of weeks) for it to become apparent whether you were going to die or survive. If you survived you would likely have liver and/or kidney damage. If you got to the hospital quickly they could give you an antidote and you might be okay. All in all, I see this as a big waste of a painkiller that would help you... like... not hurt?

If you have that many pills you may want to consider filtering the codeine from the paracetamol. If you do it a couple of times you'll be left with crystal clear codeine water.

Not good odds. If you did a cold water extraction, you would yield roughly 1.2 grams of codeine. If you're very small, and are a hyper metabolizer of codeine, it may do the trick. Some people hardly even get effected by codeine, I can't remember the statistics off the top of my head, but it's something like 30/70. If you take the pills without doing an extraction, you would just destroy your liver, and you *may* die, a slow, painful death sitting in a dialysis chair.

Better off doing a cold water extraction and supplementing the pills with another method to either speed up the process, or make it a little more enjoyable. A true opiate OD is pure bliss. Not a care in the world, you just drift off to sleep feeling the best you've ever felt, and stop breathing/go into cardiac arrest while unconscious.
