Chester Bennington death anniversary

Today marks nine years since he passed and his suicide hit me really hard. He is a lyricist who I really connected with and could see a lot of myself in his writing. A lot of Chesters' lyrics seemed to be him trying to get people to just pay attention to how he felt and what he experienced. I often think to myself "if Chester couldn't find a reason to stay then why should I"? I'm getting really close to my chosen CTB date and songs like By Myself, Somewhere I Belong and In Pieces really hit hard right now.

I like how he once said his mind is like a bad neighborhood he shouldn't go to while alone. I relate to this man so much. I remember getting Hybrid Theory and playing that in my discman back in the day.

Now, I've become so numb.

I remember the summer he passed. I had the exact same train of thought. If he could do it when he was loved by so many, why can't I? My first (albeit shitty) attempt was that August. 9 years later and I still find it weirdly reassuring that it's possible for almost anyone to ctb, regardless of how many will miss them.
