Yes, peaceful exit. It all depends on the concentration of CO in the air. 10000ppm is loss of consciousness almost immediately.

The inert gas threads are not specific about CO but you can find lots of info about cylinders + gases in these threads. Pressure, gas flow, l/minute may also be ok for CO bc CO is lethal by itself, you don't have to exchange the whole amount of oxygen in the air for it to be lethal.
