I have managed to obtain some SN. Can the police force entry and confiscate it or are they not allowed to do this? I'm in the UK and I know the law is murky around possession of SN.

I ask this because my therapist is aware I was trying to obtain SN. She keeps asking me if it's arrived. Part of me wants to be honest and tell her it has, as I think being dishonest is detrimental to my therapy, but I don't want someone to take it off me as a result.

Thanks all.

Why would you tell someone you have SN?

They can take SN and probably anything else they believe you are going to use to CTB.

I doubt they need much reason either, no solicitor would waste their time trying to get stuff back for you.

Don't tell them and no one will come for it.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you tell your therapist? And what was their reaction? I mean, imo you had to know there's a risk of ending up in a psych ward or something

if they think you're a threat to yourself and that you will act on your urges to use SN to ctb in the foreseeable future, i believe so.

It was just an answer to a question: do you have any plans for suicide? I replied honestly that I had purchased SN and was intending to use it if I don't get better. My therapist didn't threaten me with locking up or anything like that.

Because I'm seeing my therapist about my depression so I want to be honest with her about my state of mind. Otherwise it's likely to be less effective.

I wouldn't tell her if I'd decided to take it imminently though as by that point therapy doesn't matter and I know they'd intercede then, this was just about possession.

SN is a lifesaver (it will save you living a shitty life) and is precious. Especially for us in the UK with no access to guns. If you want to risk it being taken away, so you can end up alive and depressed forever, then that is a risk you and only you can decide for yourself. If you want to be honest, you can say "a friend is keeping the SN for me", that friend being you. You could make sure it is not hidden in your house, just in case!

If you feel like you are telling her cuz you are not really sure that you want to die and just want someone to help you through your problems, maybe you can arrange transferring your SN to some other Briton who wants to die (not me, I have mine) and can't get ahold of SN any other way.

I don't want to risk it being taken away, that's why I asked the question before saying anything to my therapist. I just wanted to know whether legally anyone could come into my house and take it from me.

I'm not good at lying, so when she asks me if I have SN it's hard for me to deny it. I guess I'm going to have to try as it sounds like it could be taken which I don't want to happen. It's taken a lot to finally get hold of SN and I don't want to lose it.

I understand you want to be honest because you put your faith in therapy, and discussing your suicidal thoughts is part of the therapy - I've done that too. But your therapist doesn't have to know your exact plan to be able to help you, just telling him/her you're suicidal is enough to receive help. Keep the details of your chosen method for yourself, your therapy won't be less effective because of that. I wish you all the strength to keep fighting and possibly win

Yea. Like someone else said, you don't need to go into depth about your method. It's enough to say "I have a plan", "I have made arrangements", "I have a method". You don't have to say WHERE the method is, how much it weighs, when it arrived, which way it is facing in your house in relation to Mecca! Stop being so specific. The therapist can help you without knowing these finer details. You are VERY LUCKY to have SN (as are we all). People would literally kill to have this. Think about if you were suicidal in Saudi Arabia, or in 1500's England. Unless you have the balls to stab yourself, then you're stuck here. We are lucky to have SN. Don't risk it for the sake of making your therapist happy. Your therapist probably lives a good life.

SN is a reportable substance in the UK. Note, REPORTABLE substance, as in, if someone finds your purchase of it suspicious then you may be reported to the cops.
It is perfectly legal for you to own and, without a warrant, they cannot enter your home. If anyone comes, tell them to fuck off and get a warrant.

It's not illegal here so no, plus they would need a warrant.

Next time you go to your therapist you tell them the sn has not showed up and you keep telling them that unless you wanna lose the SN? You tell no one else about the SN and hide it the police can not confiscate it unless it's illegal to own it there, in Australia it's not. As soon as you tell the therapist you have it in possession they will tell the police straight away, therapists will go against you and they legally are aloud to tell police for your safety its up to you.

Just to clear up UK law - if the police suspect or believe you have anything that you intend to use to end your life, they can arrest you and enter / search your property without a warrant. I had a welfare check for a different substance and that's the approach they took.

This is why it's important to store your SN elsewhere and either deny you have it, or have a freezer full of homemade bacon and sausages made with it as a cover story.

I don't know about the UK in the US.. police have to have a warrant to come in your home and remove something.. that's technically your property.. they can't remove it.. it's not like you have a bag of crack sitting on your counter.. and even then they need a warrant to enter the house..
your therapist can ask you be put in a hospital for a minute.. but they can't have the cops come into your home.. the most your shrink can do is asl for a welfare check.. but the cops cant come inside.. and all you have to say is you're fine.. they have to take you at your word unless you answer the door with a knife and start cutting yourself right there.. the cops are almost powerless.. suicide isn't illegal.. they're very limited about what they can do.. what's next.. remove your kitchen knives because you might cut yourself.. remove your toaster because you might throw it in the bathtub.. they can't just start taking whatever.. it's one area of law they are rendered pretty much powerless..

Thanks for all the responses. I will try to keep it to myself then. Just need to get better at lying. It would be OK if they didn't know I had been trying to obtain the SN, but unfortunately my first order triggered a welfare check and the police told my therapist, so now every time I see her she asks me if I've got it.

I don't want to lose the SN as it's taken a lot of work to obtain it and it's my preferred method.

Only you can know what is best for you.

If you want to get better, then lying to a therapist is probably sketchy ground.

I do get the comfort of having method setup and go.

Maybe you could tell a white lie? Tell her you decided to use hanging instead and you have a rope and cushions ready. That way if it gets taken, it's not your main method.

That way you are still being honest about being suicidal still, and having a method ready. Whilst keeping the primary method separate.

Now I understand better. You didn't explicitly tell her what your method was, she was well aware and you just weren't able to lie. Understandable since you want to be honest.
IMHO, you have two options: either lie to her and tell that you got rid of your SN or be honest and say that, albeit having your method ready, you're not planning to use it anytime soon because you believe in therapy. Since lying makes you feel uncomfortable, maybe the latter is your best choice, but it's just my opinion.

I wouldn't recommend this if you really want to give therapy a 100% chance, but that being said, if you want to lie, you can literally parrot any of the 100's of posts here that detail people's frustration about not receiving their SN after ordering it.

One more question, how to use it? I wanna ctb asap
Sorry to hear that you're considering death but it looks like you're acting impulsively. You don't even know what SN is and how it works, and I don't support suicide as an impulsive act. If you want to find more about SN, you can use the search bar on the upper right corner of this forum and will find plenty of information. Gathering all the resources will take some time and I suggest you use it to consider whether you really want to die or not.
Moreover, I don't want to "hijack" another member's thread as I find it disrespectful. I hope you understand
