Some people here will tell you its extremely complicated some people will tell you its easy.
Theoretically it shouldn't be a problem if you do it right but it might not work as well for everyone.

I'm a certified incompetent professional, as my boss says I'm incompetent.

And I tried partial hanging in 2014, obviously failed and I'm typing this...
I practiced it several times, over several days, to lose consciousness by applying pressure to my carotid arteries, before I attempt. (Sorry I don't want to share how to hang yourself. )
When I finally attempted, I actually lost consciousness but then I regained it somehow, in a full-on panic state.

So it might be difficult to learn it in a few hours - but as @26mmmm said your mileage may vary.
