Can an adam's apple be too big for partial hanging?

My adam's apple is quite large, and I was wondering if that was the reason I was never able to pass out after dozens of attempts of partial hanging. Maybe I just didn't try hard enough as the fear of worsening cognitive function from attempting this made me hesitant.
