can a noose be a little loose?

I have a very study cable that i can hopefully use for partial hanging. My question is, can i still successfully partial hang myself if the noose has a noose like shape where i can fit my head and let go of my body to start hanging myself but the back of my neck has a a little space bewteen my neck and the ropes knot its a little more further up the cable.
