This post has been made recently and a lot of people shared their opinions

What do you want to happen with your body after you die?

But I wanted to add a question to it;

If you believe in something after death, do you think it matters wether your are buried or cremated? What effect would it have? And which would you choose?

I never thought about that tbh.
I remember my grandma in Italy was laid out for 3 days after her death, relatives would guard her the whole time. They believe that the soul needs time to exit the body (in peace).
That's acutally one reason I don't wanna be an organ doner. They have to slice you open before you re really dead it seems.

Besides, it is another proof that our society cannot deal with death. I m not for organ donations. People wanna play God.

Just a shell. Shed it and forget about it.
What matters is inside, that is, the driver, not the vehicle.

People believed that the dead body has to be preserved for an afterlife that's why we find mummies. In other religions dead people are cremated or left in nature to be coonsumed by vultures.

From a natural point of view it's not logic that the body would has to be preserved for an afterlife bc it decays naturally after we die. What we are doing with dead bodies are rituals we humans invented they also stem from believes.

I agree but the thing with the organ donation I read recently and there is a point where the body is stated to be "dead" but it is actually not really.... I should find the newspaper article to this. I mean, who decides what "dead" is? I don't believe in science so much to trust that they know. They claim to know, yes.

Dying is a process. Taking into account what we know about NDEs there could be sth about it but we will never know.

"Brain dead" is not totally dead imo bc dying itself is a slow process, somehow people are still "alive" when their organs are taken out, kept alive via machines that interrupt the natural process of dying.

In regards of organ donations it'd be much better to invest in stem cell research and how to grow organs with our own stem cells, those organs would fit best into our bodies and could be produced according to needs. I would really support this.

Seems to me, too.

Never thought about it but that makes sense.

I dont think it matters at all, i think when your soul leaves your body after death your body is just an empty husk. Doesnt matter if you are burried or cremated, you will become a pile of bones or even less than that eventually

I'd just choose to be cremated, in my case I just want to be forgotten about like I never existed at all but anyway it isn't like it could ever matter to me what happens in this cruel, repulsive world once I'm finally free from it, it's comforting to think of human existence no longer being my concern. Everyone has to die somewhere, someday anyway, death is very much normal and inevitable.

Disposal of bodies depends on the culture and customs of the society. It doesn't make sense for me to want or request a certain type if it's not practiced where I am. I'm gonna endup buried either way. As for the afterlife it doesn't really matter as your spirit would immediately leave this body, some NDEs even claim to lose any special attachment to it looking back at it.

I believe in nature. Meaning what comes from it must go back to it. Cremation is a good way to go for me. Burial takes too much space, it should not be the norm anymore, its wasting space for other corpses who will keep dying. We are energy, we dont belong in our bodies. Our bodies are just corpses that are giving to us for a short period of time so we can "experience" this nightmare. As for the energy we are i dont know where it goes , probably it releases back to the universe and the stars
