  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

what do you mean by caller ID? me dumdum

Like on cell phones, you can see if it's a contact of yours or what number is calling. It's just automatically built in. But on actual answering machines which are on actual landline lines which nobody has anymore lol it was a big thing when they started

Namelesas shocked face is her imagining a world without caller ID/joke

I remember that during that time, the availability of caller id also depended on the type of line that the caller had. I was secretly mad at some friends for not having upgraded yet such that I could tell it was them who called being the control freak that I am. Maybe I also knew it was that friend because he stood out by not having caller id shown yet. I don't remember though...

We still have landlines here :-) But they are VOIP now. I miss the old dialtone melodies at the start of each call though.

New strategy of the girls: Make GlassMoon dive into technical nostalgia and score 10 posts while he writes one :-)

Do you still have a landline? I don't know about where you are but here are so many people are ditching them because they have cell phones. We kept ours because there is at least a few people who will only call that number.

Yes I do. It's actually useful because you can be reached during the night in emergencies when the cell phones are off. Also, people don't have to decide whom to call. Just call the whole household!

Sometimes I'm not even sure how to work mine lol. I accidentally hung up on someone once because I went to press the button that would be to end a call on my cell.

Yes, when you hear a landline ring at night, you know there is some sort of horrible emergency
