Best guns to use for suicide?

I live in TX and my background is clear so I can buy a gun easily. Heard that some guns are worse for suicide, which one should I get?

I'm British, unfortunately, so I have zero experience with firearms. Anyway, I assume a shotgun would blow your whole brain out. It would be extremely messy though, for whoever does find your body, not exactly dignified.

I got weird dislike for shooting into head, so I would go for heart.

The guns megathread has some suggestions. I'm looking at a .38 revolver because 1) looks "cool", 2) can literally pick up whenever I want the day after I put the purchase in from a warehouse ~40min out, and 3) very small so easily hidden, plus the caliber is seemingly decent.

I would personally love the 950 JDJ fat Mac as a ctb weapon.

The chance of it failing is zero percent.

Anything above a .22. That said, slaughterhouses used to put down cows with a .22. I mean, think of a cow's head. But 9mm and up are the best ways. Temporal shots are 95% fatal. Use JHP, not FMJ.

@daysfeel @CandyCane the "best" gun, that is widely accessible and affordable, to CTB with is a 12-gauge single-barrel shotgun with an 18" barrel made by a reputable shotgun manufacturer like mossberg or remington. And "best" is in quotes because at the end of the day it's somewhat subjective. If you'd like something more compact than a shotgun then the "best" handgun option, again that is widely accessible and affordable, would be a 44 magnum revolver. And if you can't afford a 44 magnum then a 357 magnum revolver would also do.
