literally thought this tooAbsolutely the worst thing to say is:
"Hang in there!"
This is not at all what I implied. I never suggested they or anyone were exempt.Nor is it realistic for you to imply that the only two options should be either letting anyone say anything unquestioned or unchallenged, or reporting them directly to mods for post deletion. In fact, that kind of passive-agressive, all-or-nothing scenario would be more unhealthy than the situation you are currently taking issue with.
i suggested that maybe the OP was (those ridiculing words) but no need to be judge and jury here.. I find it puzzling that such behaviour doesn't seem to even raise an eyebrow from you, but my commenting to OP about those plans is such a cause for your concern.
It is not the need to address the OPs behavior that I took issuewith, It's how it's done. By all means address it, Without a belittling or condescending tone.I agree with this. Though it might not be my place since I'm still so new, I think autumnal raises a valid point. I'm tempted to give OP the benefit of the doubt and assume that their plan of action towards their doctor was an impulsive fantasy born out of anger over the actions taken by their doctor, which I understand. But on the off chance that they were serious, I do believe it's important to be reminded of the implications of such an 'act of revenge' because at that point it stops being about the OP only but involves potentially harming other people whose motivations for their actions were likely only concern and a wish to help. 'Punishing' someone for this is petty and spiteful in my opinion and one has to realise that one is potentially doing severe emotional damage to a person who was either only concerned and trying to help or possibly even following standard protocol which is mandated by law.

And if OP calls the DR before SN, they are perhaps seeking attn and not intending to die because this act will most likely result in being saved.
I'm not so sure about that Doctor who called the police on you. Unless you came across as about to commit suicide imminently (saying you want to die, and have a plan and / or weapon), it's not easy to have someone committed. Or so I've read (please correct me if I'm wrong: Im from the US). That doctor definitely sounded like they were overreaching their authority.
Sorry, I hate when people jump to assume you must be mental ill and don't have the capacity for decision-making because you mention suicide.
I hope you have better luck with doctors in the future.
I have expierenced the same on several occasions. Just being suicidal was not enough for them to do anything regarding police. Still I find it disgusting that the system even allows for that, only because you want to make a decision about your own life, no matter how your mental capacity is at the moment.I can only speak for myself, but I've brought up suicide and suicidal thoughts to my doctors. Neither one of them said they were worried (yet) about me. they were the ones telling me I'd have to lay out a plan and/or have obvious means, like a gun, noose, poison, etc. For them to turn me in.
I suppose your mileage may vary.

I told my primary care Dr. I was feeling suicidal and she said "Well if that's really the case, then I'm calling the police right now" This was 2 months after my co-workers called the police because they were worried about me as well. WORST THING YOU CAN DO/SAY TO ME WHEN I'M SUICIDAL is to call the cops. Obviously I talked my way out of it both times, this is NOT my first rodeo. So - I say FUCK YOU to those who call the police on me for saying I'm suicidal. Right before I CTB with my SN, I want to call the Dr.s office and tell her to think twice next time before threatening to call the police when someone tells her they are suicidal. It doesn't help - at all.
Yeah it's awful when they say that, I get most suicidal when I feel trapped. One time they knew I had tried it, called an ambulance so I tried to run out of the house, they locked all the doors and called the police. So obviously I tried to get out of a window. It didn't work.
After all that spent hours in a and e and was sent home. The world is fucked
