Since this site is threatened to get shut down, I am extremely worried about what to do. I am planning to copy down as much SN info as I can find from this site onto my personal suicide research notes, so that hopefully I'll still be able to ctb with SN if the site gets shut down. However, it has always been my dream to be able to ctb with N. As D's operation is still down currently and we have no idea when/if he'll be back, I'm not sure how I'd be able to stay up to date about N stuff if the site gets taken down. As such, I'm thinking the only option would be for me to become a vet so that I can have access to euthanasia drugs. Vet school would be extremely expensive and would involve a shit ton of work, but honestly at this point I am willing to do it if that's what it takes to fulfill my dreams. I am thinking of working as a software developer for a couple decades and saving up money for vet school. Then after vet school, I would work as a vet. Would I have to work as a vet in Latin America or could I still get euthanasia drugs if I work in the US? If the former, which Latin American country should I move to? I am willing to move to Latin America if need be and I am studying Spanish on Duolingo. I already have a good background in Portuguese and other romance languages so I'm hoping someday I will be able to become fluent in Spanish. Also, this is a bit *too* ambitious, I'm aware, but it would be really cool if I could become the next D. I don't have any background in drug dealing at all, hence why it would be extremely ambitious, but maybe I'll be able to learn more about drug dealing, the black market, cryptocurrency, etc. I would highly appreciate it if someone could give me advice on becoming a vet to obtain N!

It won't get shut down :) it won't be the first time the mods had to get creative. It'll be around in one form or another.

Becoming a vet to get N, very creative!

Becoming a veterinary is a way to obtain barbiturates, but the problem remains to self-inject the drug into the body, which someone else should do. There is always the risk of nausea and vomiting when you drink something and then the method can fail.

It's easier to become an anesthesia technician. You have access to fentanyl, thiopental, propofol and neuromuscular blockers. 2 years of education in the country I live in.

In fact, someone can inject themselves with a lethal dose of vet N before they become unconscious. Possible with 2 x IV access. Arm-brain circulation is 8-10 seconds. It is possible to push 25 cc during this time. 50 cc vet N in total is 3 grams. Absolutely deadly for the average person.

I don't know how difficult it would be to get a hold of the drugs as an anesthesia technician, but I think smuggling N out as a veterinarian won't be easy, as I've read they usually keep their euthanasia drugs under tight security. Now admittedly I did read that from a member here who got banned because they were a fraud, which puts his story into question.

It is very easy. Just 2 vials of thiopental and 2 ampoules of rocuronium are enough to ctb. There are many anesthesia technicians, operating room nurses, emergency room doctors/nurses, anesthesiologists who committed suicide in this way. It's not just suicide. Cases of accidental OD with propofol in rest rooms. The anesthesia technician prepares the drugs to be used in anesthesia before the surgery. Medicines are put into syringes and labeled.

Would I need to smuggle it though? Couldn't I just take it onsite?

Again this was a story from a member who was revealed to be a fraud, vets keep the N locked away in a safe that's always being watched by security cameras. So taking it onsite without getting caught would be incredibly difficult. Despite that, I've read due to N shortages vets are having to rely on other drugs/drug mixtures to CTB animals anyways.

You're likely better off taking Sunset Limited's advice to become an anesthesia technician.

Ok thanks sounds good! It require less money and less effort than becoming a vet, so I'm happy about that. Just wondering though. is the N still locked up in a safe in Latin American countries even? Or do they have more lax standards?

For Latin American countries as a whole I wouldn't know. I've read that in Mexico it used to be pretty easy to purchase N over the counter without any kind of qualifications, but now most if not all of them are reluctant to hand over N so easily. I can't remember if it was due to either how so many tourists were purchasing it to CTB or if it's just due to N shortages. A few members here reckon you might be able to bribe them into giving you N.

If you want to go the Mexico route, I'd suggest CTBing in Mexico, otherwise you'll get in trouble trying to bring N with you over borders.

If it shuts down another will open for sure, but it's just a matter of time before something brings that down in time as well.

Personally I'd like to keep my options open.

What other site can we turn to in case SS shuts down? Is there somewhere to turn directly and look for new sites? Like Reddit? Which sub?

r/suicidal_thoughts is modestly pro-choice but it's quite small. r/antinatalist is fairly suicide pro-choice too but off topic usually. I don't know of any other places

r/promortalism is great but I've never found out about any websites other than the SS forum from there. As terrible as it sounds, I really don't think there's anything like SS out there.
