Interesting article. Maybe this should be in another thread, but one question came to me regarding long-drop hanging. It talks about long-drop hanging leading to decapitation being a failure. Of course this would be a very horrific sight in executions, but should this be considered a mistake in suicide for example? And does this result in a quicker loss of consciousness?

If a long drop is done right, one is unconscious instantly.
