I don't know if you're still considering this method, but if so it may be worth your while checking page 417 of Five Last Acts.

just saw your comment now. I just checked out page 417 and read it, they seem to be talking about temperatures way below freezing. They also say that extremely cold weather is needed to die via hypothermia. But you can also get hypothermia in relatively warm water temperatures, like 10-13 degrees celcius, which does lead to death but just takes longer. so I'm not sure what Five Last Acts would say about that.
